another Carnival experience, just our perspective by kfrosh64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship is very clean and staff are hospitable.  Would be nice if the steward's carts weren't parked next to our entry every day.  Staff needs to implement a much better program and organization for muster drills and disembarkation.  Getting off the ship was truly an experience we'd rather not repeat.  Good is decent, the Italian restaurant is worth every stop!  Portions are large!   Smoking areas are numerous for those who indulge (we don't).  Entertainment was OK.  Very very disappointed that no onboard ship stores were open except candy store.

Awesome Cruise Ship but by wikettt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Ship itself was beautiful and the crew was very helpful. The food was good except it was a daily repeat of yesterday with the exception of have a different meat each night. I can't believe out of 8 nights not 1 time did they have mashed potatoes. Food selection for Room Service was very limited.

My other gap is we lost $120 for an excursion in San Juan because another ship was docking and that cause the Breeze gangway to be closed for about an hour. That made us miss that excursion. Carnival said they couldn't reimburse us our money because we didn't buy from them and Excursion Group said it wasn't their fault we missed it. Anyways we are out of $120. Makes me not to want to go with Carnival again and when we go cruising again we won't buy excursion again.

This whole cruise was disappointing for me and will probably not be cruising with Carnival again.  :(

CARNIVAL INTENTIONALLY PUT PASSENGERS ON BOARD WITH A SICK CREW by Cruiser139

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We couldn't wait to go!!! So excited!  We even spent way to much at the spa! That's when we really noticed, our spa workers were coughing and sneezing in our rooms working on us....ok. As the trip continues we hear more and more hacking in the hallways, outside on the decks,  and the best part? We actually saw the man serving bacon coughing with the pan of bacon in one hand tongs in another! We were told by the crew themselves that this was the second round, and 1 girl was hospitalized,  and just now they were receiving antibiotics.  So they were sick when we got on. We get screened for sickness,  do they? 1/2 the people wouldn't go to the medics too expensive.  Letters to Carnival?  They said sorry u got sick. Nothing about review of the policy.  Other cruise lines quarantine their sick crew and passengers alike. SHAME ON YOU CARNIVAL

Great ship by TheCruisr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We loved the ship. The room stewards were wonderful and friendly. Ledo deck food was good. Getting on and off the ship at ports of call was reasonably fast. The only draw back was the lack luster food choices in the dinning room. But overall it was a great  and enjoyable time

Great restaurant staff but terrible accomodations by goatroper3950

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The restaurant staff provided great service and were great fun with their dancing, especially, Arthur, Benito, & Iwaya.  Mike, the cruise director, was amazing, energetic. However, our balcony room 2306 was a bad experience.  The staff kept it clean but all during the night, there were loud booms that kept waking us up as well as loud noises from above our room that sounded like large furniture being drug across the floor.

Also, when I chose the room online, there was no indication that the balcony was a "cove" balcony and that it was on the 2nd level and that it was below the rescue boats.  When I brought this to the attention of the guest services staff they really didn't seem to care.

Lastly, the drink service in the casino was horrible.  While playing TX holdem we would sometimes have to go find a waiter to order drinks.  It also doesn't make sense that the TX Hold 'em is the only activity that doesn't earn casino points.

I have not have this type of experience on other cruise lines and will have trouble ever using Carnival again.

Everything was amazing! by tiffanyjanell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I'm a picky person & I love Carnival. The service is always exceptional, there were soo many different food choices and always something to entertain us. This was my 4th cruise w them and I loved it. Took my 2 girls 11 & 5 & they loved it too. Especially camp Ocean & Anna Bananna lol. They cried the whole way home. My only complaint is there salt water pools- make sure u take goggles. And their excursions are super expensive...but I always just book with outside companies. Other than that, no complaints...Carnival rocks! So much so that I've been back 3 days... & plan on booking again before the wk is out. Can't wait to sail w them again!

Three stars by Cruiser745

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great ship ... Kids camp was wonderful .. Food was just okay.. Our waiter was just okay our waitress was supper friendly.. Our cabin steward.. Was wonderful... We were unhappy with our deck.. They redid the railing and chipped paint was left all over our balcony.. We asked  customer service to please clean up the balcony and it was never done .. Our grandson even cut his foot on the balcony and still it was never taken care of..  Then my husband fell in love with a watch.. He attempted to negotiate with the vendor on the ship who told him about their price match policy after finding the same watch for $650 less my husband produce evidence to show that the same watch and model was cheaper elsewhere the vendor refused to honor their policy and carnival  Carnival Cruise line refused to back my husband up on the purchase of the watch this experience was less than rewarding as such my husband has indicated his refusal to ever cruise on Carnival Cruise lines again

Miami 8day carribian by Lyndadonato

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

the first thing that happened was one of my luggage had been damaged. The handle had been ripped off. The case was all dented in. The front and the back was completely scratched up, with deep gauges, upon presenting it to customer services, they told me that was just normal wear and tear, he did not want to deal with this matter. It was purchased in November and had been used just once, and was is great condition! They finally told me to have the handle fixed and send the bill and they would decide if they would pay the claim. Upon debarkation, they finished the job. after waiting fourty min for our luggage a man informed me that a luggage was laying wide open with all the clothes spread all over the floor. Sure enough it was mine. All my underwear , and dirty clothes all over the place . I was so embarrassed, and humiliated. Zipper was broken, the wheel was ripped off, the outside of the case was shredded, and all dented in.the lady who wrote up my claim told me to call the number on the paper. I told her I had no insurance. I called the number, they said nothing they could do,because  I should have had insurance. I asked to speak to carnival sup. And the man that I talked to told me to repurchase and send them the bill,so that is what I did. We were suppose to have a sixty dollar on board credit to compensate for the lower price, right after I booked, and when I inquired about it, they knew nothing about it, and told me to contact my agent when we got back home. I did, and instead of on board credit they put it back on credit card. One other item was the wine we carried on board. The last two sailing I brought one 1.5 liter instead of carrying two 750. This time it was taken away from me. It's the same amount of wine! That just did not make any sense. They had a storage room large enough to open a liquor store.they need to stipulate that you can no longer bring 1.5 on board, and that it would be taken away! I would like to see some kind of compensation, for what we had gone through, on a future sailing. This was a very embarrassing situation.

Bigger is not Better by zinahollar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Not enough pools for that many guests. Added hot tubs but were not hot. Serenity deck has no pool and 1 hot tub. Pizza shop that was to be open all the time: had to wait every time we got pizza. I can appreciate the freshly hot cooked idea, but not a 20 minute wait every time. Disappointed with excursions we chose. The historical sites we were to see were either gone or under construction. Ride to get to excursions are too long.

Outstanding Cruise by uspotters

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Staff were very professional yet friendly. The ship facilities were clean and comfortable. A couple of the ports could be larger, but served a very small purpose for trinkets and such. A couple of the cruise employees help us realize we need to schedule more cruises with Carnival and not competitors. Diane Calma (food services), Ryan and Quintos. Diane was amazing and we requested to be served by her for all of our dining room meals. She accepted us for mealtimes when she already had too many others to serve. She presents the qualities consistent with management and should be considered for such positions. Ryan remembered our names and diverse drink choices for each meal (4 in our party). Crina was also a joy to talk to.

Great 30th Birthday Aboard Carnival Breeze! by capitalkyle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my first Carnival cruise, and for my 30th birthday a few friends and I decided to do the 6-night western Caribbean itinerary which stopped at Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

The Breeze is a great ship. She's now 4 years old but in amazing shape. I have heard stories about the over-the-top decor on Carnival ships, but Breeze's decor is wonderful. Simple, modern with a touch of sophistication. Having been on mostly larger ships before this, I thought the size of Breeze was just right. It's big enough to fit lots of different restaurants and venues but not so big that you feel like you don't have time to see everything.

Food on the Breeze was great! From the main dining room to the steakhouse to the lido deck offerings like Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana mexican food, I thought everything was delicious and I would not hesitate to have any of it again. For my birthday we were also fortunate enough to experience the Chef's Table. The whole experience from beginning to end was fabulous and it was the perfect way to mark a special occasion. The table is right in the middle of one of the main kitchens (between the main dining rooms) and the service was impeccable. We also learned how to make that famous Chocolate Melting Cake!

Our stateroom on the Breeze was a Cove Balcony (Deck 2). I firmly believe that these cabins are the ship's hidden gem. The rates are lesser than that of a "normal" balcony stateroom, but the location and the VIEW are so much better. The view from almost all of the traditional balconies on the Breeze look straight down onto the Deck 5 lanai, so you do not have a view of the water looking straight down. Cove balconies are located underneath that deck as well as the lifeboats, so your view straight down is into the water. The proximity to the water is just magical. If you cruise to feel connected to the sea and to enjoy the breathtaking views, a cove balcony is for you!

My philosophy when it comes to cruising is that there are so many ships out there to try it would take something truly exceptional for me to want to go back on the same ship twice. With Breeze, I would at least consider doing another cruise!

Carnival Breeze by ramgogia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The sailing was good as well as the cabins.  No major problem encountered.  However the quality of food though good, it did not have the OOMPH factor.  The Indian food, was too spicy for me and the wife., Though we have our own food/catering business in Canada , we do not use the same level of chillies, as served on Breeze.  The chef stated it is to satisfy the crew???  What about the paying passengers.  The food on the last day was absolutely bland and could have been improved lot more.

Breeze vacation by shoretoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Boat was bright and friendly. Shows were good, but the food was not. This was our 14 th cruise on Carnival. We had any time dinning. The food was of poor quality, and mostly cold when served. The waite staff was mixed between fast and polite to slow and rude. We walked out of  the dinning room twice durning the trip. The food was better in the buffett on Lido deck.

La selección de islas y la calidad de la atención recibida nos deja nuevamente satisfechos. Los shows externos no fueron tan buenos como solían ser (mago y malabarista). No hay más chocolate en la cama a la vuelta de la cena. Crying

The selection of islands and the quality of care received again leaves us satisfied. External shows were not as good as they used to be (magician and juggler). No more chocolate in bed around dinner.

End of the year cruise by smajor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our cruise experience was great once we got to the Carnival station at the airport.  After having great difficulty getting to Miami due to airline cancellations for mechanical failure once we got to the Carnival station our minds were put at ease after working with a nice lady named Cindy Allen.  She did everything that she could to reassure us that we would make it to the ship on time.  She stayed after her shift to help us get to the boat.

The cruise itself was lots of fun.  There were all sorts of activities going on daily.  The staff on the cruise were always very helpful and Raymond and Pucu and others were excellent at serving us during our mealtime.  During the day I'd recommend eating at the Guy's Burger Place.

New Year's Eve was one I won't forget.  What a neat place to celebrate!
