Great vacation! by GinaT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Just got back from our week long sail on the Caribbean Princess. This was our first time on princess and we were impressed. This is the biggest ship we have sailed on, which made for a smoother experience. Even on the one day we had some bad weather you wouldn't have even known unless you were on the deck and saw the rain and waves. Watching a movie while in the pool was also a new experience we enjoyed. They showed some fairly new movies, but also some oldies but goodies. The ship was very clean and the staff very friendly and professional, they seemed to be having as much fun as we did! Although we did not try out the spa services, we did use the gym which had enough equipment that we never had to wait to use our favorites. Our cabin steward was excellent. It seemed as if the only time we saw her was when we needed something, but you definitely knew she had been there! Even if we went back to the cabin for only 45 minutes to rest between events, when we came back the bed was always remade, and the bathroom freshened. The only thing we didn't enjoy as much as on previous cruises was Anytime Dining. In the past we would have specific seating times with the same wait staff. They really went out of their way to make dinner not only pleasant but fun. With anytime dining, we made reservations for specific times, but the staff seemed more concerned with getting the tables cleared out if there were a lot of people waiting. Next time we would definitely chose an assigned seating. Overall this was the best cruising experience we have had and will definitely sail princess again.

A most enjoyable cruise by ShareenS

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was the first time my daughter and I had every been on a cruise ship. But I must tell you. It was the most beautiful, breathtaking and enormous ship I have every seen. We had a wonderful time. The people was all so kind and friendly. The crew members and our stateroom person was very nice. The different islands we were on was breathtaking and lovely. And let me not get into the food. Ok my. I have never seen so much food in my life. I will recommend this trip to everyone. Thats how much fun we had. I want to thank everyone for all the help that was shown to us. All the best. We had a wonderful 14 days combining the East and West Caribbean. The only slightly minus must have been that the shows where repeated the second week.

Lots of Food, LOTS OF MONEY by Rob7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just returned from this cruise (Caribbean Princess 7 day, Eastern Caribbean) to St. Marteen, St. Thomas and Princess Cays last Sunday. The boat was very well maintained, the room was comfortable, and wonderfully maintained by our room steward, Alex. The amount of food was abundant, but the quality was just average (of course, they are preparing 13,000 meals a day, so you have to give them some leeway). The entertainment was first rate the first three nights, but went downhill quickly. Overall, I would rate it this way ---- Room Steward - 10 out of 10, Dining room service 3 out of 10 (unless you dine in the dining room, you are pretty much on your own regarding getting anything other than alcohol to drink). Ship quality - 9 of 10, St, Marteen 1 of 10, reminds me of Nassau, St. Thomas 8 of 10 - much cleaner (if you can, DO THE DANCING DOLPHIN Turtle Cove Snorkeling -- YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME). Princess Cays 0 of 10, too crowded, not enough time, and crappy shore line. All in all, I can see a lot better ways of spending $10,000 on a vacation.

A great and relaxing week by CarlR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise with Princess, but we are experienced having cruised over 15 different ships and at least 5 diferent lines. We had a few minor problems which can happen on any cruise, but the service, food, entertainment and cleanliness of the ship and staff were as good as any of our past experiences.

An Experience by TuesdayS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed the ship. We had a wonderful time. However I departed from the ship on June 17th, and The credit card that i gave the ship to charge was definatly charged, but not by me. My stops were Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. And someone charged my credit card from Santa Clarita California. I do not appreciate it, and I had to cancel my card. I don't know if I'll be able to get the charged amount of over $400.00 back. And that does not please me.

Fantastic ship, crew equals great cruise by RickB11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff onboard were allways friendly and always there with a smile. Our son was there to get married at sea and the staff was great at getting this all put togeather for everyone, as with most weddings there were some hic-ups. A geat place to get married or renew your vows. The staff was just wonderful at putting everything togeather and making things as worry free for everyone as they could possible do. We never heard anyone told no on anything they asked. The over all exprience was fantastic and I have recommened this ship to many people and would love to go again soon.

A huge disappointment by DeirdreV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was clean, however the space within the ship not not utilized very well. Casino was small, did not have a casino atmosphere, was not very well laid out, not well ventilated and had very old machines. Also almost all the blackjack tables had automatic card shufflers. If you're going on th ship to gamble, this ship is not the place to do it. Huge disappointment.

A luxurious and relaxing vacation by JoeA6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have sailed on 2 Princess cruises in the recent past (both were on the Grand Princess) before sailing on the Caribbean Princess. In comparison, this ship was as nice as the Grand, but on a larger scale. We never felt crowded in any one place. The Princess theater had many empty seats 5 minutes prior to any show performance, so we never felt we had to go extra early to get good seats. We always managed to find seats in the first few rows for any show we attended, early or late. Food quality was excellent and all wait staff who served us (we were on Personal Choice dining and had different tables each night) were very attentive and caring to please us. Nothing seemed too difficult for them to handle. The buffets in the Horizon Court were crowded at times and if you went at a "peak" time there was difficulty in finding a table for two. However, when we saw a large table occupied by another group of 2 we asked if they wouldn't mind sharing and no one said the seats were being saved; we were always invited to join them. The port stops were fine. The staff was accomodating and helpful in getting the passengers off the ship in the most efficient way. We enjoyed the trip to Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, but we disliked any shopping in Ocho Rios and we would prefer not going back to Jamaica again (this was our 2nd time in Jamaica) for the interference of our privacy. This was the first time in a long while that we cruised alone and with "personal choice" dining we were really alone throughout the whole cruise. For those couples that don't like that privacy, we would recommend the traditional seating, early or late, where the dining staff will put you at a table that might be conducive to dinner conversation and a chance to meet other passengers. Given the chance to cruise again. we would have no qualms about cruising again on Caribbean Princess.

A very restful, delightful cruise by DoloresD1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Caribbean Princess is a wonderful ship and we enjoyed sailing on it for the second time. We are partial to Princes cruises and have become a loyal customer. We like the friendly employees and enjoy the special treatment we receive. The room attendants are very accommodating and the dining room wait staff try so hard to please all. We are now looking forward to sailing on the Emerald Princess and hopefully, will meet some of the staff we had the pleasure of meeting on previous Princess cruises.

A wonderful and must-have experience! by HardatS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first cruise and I was very impressed with the overall service of the ship and its crew. The ride across the Caribbean was breathtaking and the ride was surprisingly very smooth considering I stayed in a room at the very back of the ship. The activities available, food and drinks were great. I've heard numerous horror stories about cruises before I went on this cruise. All I have to say to those peple is that you traveled with the wrong cruise ship and you should've went with Princess Cruises.

A great repeat cruise by friendofall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have been on 17 cruises and took this same cruise 2 years ago. The ship is wonderful and well maintained. There are plenty of activities for all interests from "doing nothing but relaxing to participating in one event after another." The quality of the food in the dining room was not as good as the last time but that is not what we cruise for anyway. Anytime Dining option is fantastic. We could go to dinner whenever we were ready not just early or late. We missed the familiarity with our waiter that you get on a regular dining time at the same table each night, but the flexibility was well worth it. Balcony rooms are wonderful and reasonably priced since there are so many of them on this ship.
