Poor weather meant that this holiday did not meet our expectations. This was our first cruise so we have nothing to judge it by, but whilst the facilities on the Azura are excellent, as is the food, the entertainment was very hit and miss. We appreciate that you cannot please all the people all the time but too often it seemed to be aimed at the lowest common denominator... too loud, too inane, so intrusive if you were trying to relax. Perhaps we were the wrong people for this type of cruise. We won't be back.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: we went in November but your survey doesn't show this option.
My favourite parts of the cruise were the food, formal nights and the entertainment. The part that can be improved is to stop the harassment of the guest by trying to sell the ships services like timeshare, it was like being in Spain with timeshare people stopping you everywhere you went. I would not recommend this cruise or P & O to anyone as they seem to have lost the plot and are concentrating on sales to boost profits and less on the passengers.
Rooms:very dissappointed after booking 2 rooms next to each other, agent told us they were. When we arrived we were in fact not together room p217 & p218 was around the other side of the boat. As the boat was full capacity we were unable to move!!!
we did not have correct luggage labels for 218 after asking numerous times, we had to change them ourselves!! Luckily there cases did not go missing. But we cannot fault P & O ,but as this was our first cruise not a very good start ! Due to the agent 118 cruise.com
For us there were too many passengers for the entertainment venues. Some passengers sat in the theatre reading their book in order to get a seat for the show. Also the ship was very very cold due to the air con, we both came home with colds. Would not cruise with P&O again.
we we're disappointed this time on the Azura.. The cutbacks are very evident. Health and hygiene didn't appear priority. Towels on deck stopped but the worst disappointment was in the theatre with acts being duplicated. It has certainly put us off P&O Cruise Ships. Even in the cabin no towel animals. Little personal touches that you had on previous cruises were missing. Overall very disappointed with the Cruise Ship. Even the Entertainments Manager didn't seem to have the Zest we experienced on previous cruises with Azura. The best about the cruise was the amazing weather which was not down to the Cruiseline.
We loved our trip to the Monet Gardens. Just a perfect day for us both - surprised me as my husband is not a gardener or an artist - but he found it relaxing and interesting. The lady tour guide was so informative and so good with us all.
We had problems with our hop on hop off bus and boat trip though yourselves, but you have kindly offered us a refund of the cost. Hopefully you will take steps to correct this.
If we did Amsterdam again we would opt for the P&O windmill tour. Still we had fun and gave us a laughable time to talk about. We thought the Ship was good. My husband has resisted a cruise holiday until now - having done his first one - he wants to go again.
This cruise we have waited a long time for and it was well worth the wait third time on Azura and each time we love her more the cabin was clean albeit a little tired in places
crew are some of the best on P&O, food was excellent, freedom dining was again easy to do we had the same table every night we had a buzzer went for drinks and usually within twenty mins our table was ready reason for same table was location and Manal the waiter was fantastic
The Greek islands where above our expectations just stunning we loved every second special mention Capt Camby was the best capt we have ever met funny and very approachable and I'm told by my wife very nice eye candy
Quick efficient check in and the cabin was excellent. The food was also of a high standard but that is all I can say about this cruise. We have never cruised before and after this experience, we never will again. I do not want to be serenaded by yellow or blue coats singing "Sailing" as we leave port. It was all so Butlins. I was almost expecting staff to say Hi di Hi to us. Truly awful. The buffet was like a scrum down with greedy people piling up their plates with food they couldn't possibly eat.
we decided to have our breakfast served to us, which was far more civilised that walking round with a tray of food trying to find somewhere to sit.
water in the cabins should be free and not charged. For what we paid, it should be free and is very mean of P&O.
like many people, we asked for a refund immediately as we thought that we will decided who and when to tip and not be dictated to. We weren't even told that my credit card had been debited. Cheek!
the entertainment was sub standard and more akin to a holiday camp. The daytime activities were a joke and thoroughly boring.
Good itinerary, allocated flexible dining which suited us.
Weather not too bad though very little sun until Bilbao.
Nice ship, though lacks a little character perhaps because of its size.
All facilities good though seemed to be somewhat understaffed in open deck areas. All round though a very good cruise.
Somewhat disappointed with cabin allocations as we booked two cabins & were allocated C100 & C101, which we assumed to be adjacent, in fact one is port & the other on the starboard side of the ship - miles away! Not useful when looking after elderly relatives.
Sailed on azura in march on a mini cruise to Bruges and it was fantastic 10 of us in our party and loved every single thing on board 3 out of 10 had cruised befor and I can tell you that everyone in our party loved it from the sail away party , food , entertainment, cabin not a single complaint. Everyone gutted on the way home that it was over So 5 days later we had all payed our deposit for the next one on Britannia in may and we can't wait. Thanks P&O
Excellent Ship. It was our 1st cruise and we loved it. The only thing we would not do again is sail from Southampton. Southampton itself is lovelly but it was too many sea days for us to the Carribean. Staff on the Azura are so nice and extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful and the food great. We would higglt recommend the steak in the Beach House. We stayed in room D419. We have booked our 2nd cruise but we are flying straight too Barbados. We wanted to do Azura again but it doesn't got to some of the islands we want to see next. We are going on Britannia next time. We are hooked
Well been on AZURA a few times now. 2 of witch was the Caribbean transatlantic crossing to the Caribbean. Well AZURA nice big family size ship. Definitely better on the seas then most small ships. If it's your fist time cruising think carefully what you want to get out of your holiday. Don't just pick the cheapest price cruise. As the transatlantic one. Lots of seas days suits them who like to relax and mingle. If you want to be write in the moment and less time for mingle and see more island do a fly there and back. Well after just coming off of AZURA it's bit sad to see there are few places that could do with some tlc. One main one being the out door cinema screen with pixels or what ever out. All in all would definitely recommend this cruise ship to most. Top tip definitely get a good crowd of you. You will definitely have a blast.
Wonderful cruise on Azura with my cruise friend Maureen, loved the ship, the ports and the weather, met some lovely people and Azura's crew and staff were super with extra mention to our cabin steward and restaurant waiters. No complaints whatsoever, worth every penny, like the previous comment says ' would go back in a heartbeat', thanks Azura.
