The Planet Bar is a great place for a quiet drink in the evening. Dancing is great. Lots of non-hosted activities which could be better enjoyed if a teacher were made available.

We did not realise until the end of our cruise that we could have also participated in lunch in one of the main restaurants. We always went up top and helped ourselves. We thought we were only allowed to go in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal. We preferred self service for breakfast.

If booking a balcony cabin & the balcony is important, be very careful as the 'key' to balcony facilities is quite complex in the P&O literature. On disembarkation day we found it impossible to get a table for breakfast [not just us!] the dining room could not cope with the capacity. Get in early!

If you like a drink take as much as you can to drink in your cabin as the bar prices are quite expensive.

Go for the Peninsular/Meridian freedom dining options. Avoid the self service but give Sindhu and Epicurean Fine Dining restaurants a try, relatively expensive but worth a visit. If you want a more personal, relaxed cruise, you should have choosen a smaller ship.

We ate in the main dining room the first night and the food was just OK. The following night we ate in the beach comber which you pay a supplement for and it was much better food.

Go for flexible dining. And use the dining room for lunch and dinner

Be wary where you sit when watching the seascreen as you can either be trapped in the full sun, or cold in the evening when the sun goes down.

get used to it as quick as you can. figure out what you want to do, what you want to see etc. so that you can get there without going back and forwards and getting lost.
