A must for anyone wanted to go to Greece and the islands. Everything was good and it was first time on P&O so it was a great first impression of the fleet!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and easy, so much better than an airport!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room was good- had freedom dining so we could go down whenever we wanted and had the choice to share a table or sit on our own (my mum and me). Buffet restaurant was good, though I think they could have more room as both sides got very busy in a peak time and you wander around looking for somewhere to sit.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were good. Felt like during the day there wasn't much to do other than quizzes or dancing. Did watch some films on the sea screen but by the end of the cruise, the screen was a bit fuzzy and patchy.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved the entertainment in the evening! Every act, whether it was a singer, comedian or ventriloquist was amazing and the Headliners Theatre Company shows were phenomenal .
Children's Programs
Over the age limit
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our Cabin steward, Maria, was lovely and kept our room to a high standard. The waiters were all very friendly and in the restaurant one remembered what I liked to order, which was nice.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ships layout was easy to work out: Cabins towards the front on lower decks, theatre. Mid-ship was the main dining rooms, atrium, shops, and some bars and the pools. The back was the buffet and some more bars. All areas were kept very clean. Sea screen could do with updating though.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was the perfect size for my mum and me. Plenty of storage space for our clothes and shoes. Bathroom on the small side but was clean. When it was rough on the last two days, it was a bit uncomfortable to be in the cabin due to the rocking motion (for me as I was sea sick) but it could be soothing to some people!
Didn't do an excursion here. We got the shuttle bus from the port to the bus station in the town and walked up to the old town and the cathedral. Weather was lovely and warm. Did some shopping and watched the planes land and take off from the top of the hill. Overall a very nice port.
We did the East Island Panorama excursion and it was great! Guide was very knowledgeable and talked about the mythology of the island and Greece. Back at the port on the ship, we watched the planes take off right over our heads as the airport was next to us, so a plane spotters paradise!
Did the Mykonos Highlights excursion and we drove around the island (didn't take long as a very small island). Visited a monastery and a beach along the way. Then the guide took us around Mykonos town through the alleyways (be careful not to get lost or you'll be left behind!) and showed us the windmills and the 'little Venice). Very charming port with lots of alleyways and shops and we caught the shuttle bus back to the ship.
LOVED SANTORINI! This was the highlight for me for this cruise. We did the Village of Oia and swim excursion and as it was a early start, we had priority for the tenders in the morning to get to the port to get the coach. Our guide was a lovely elderly man who had lots of knowledge. The roads are very windy and lots of hairpin turns, not for the faint hearted. Oia is as beautiful as the pictures on the internet suggest, white washed buildings and blue domes. After Oia, we went to the south of the island to a lovely beach where we had about 2 and half ours to soak up the sun and eat some lunch before going back to Fira to look around and catch the cable car. A word of warning: our guide gave us tickets for the cable car and said we didn't have to queue as we already had a ticket, but when my mum and I got there, we still had to queue up. So just be careful if your guide says you don't have to queue. But overall this port is lovely and definitely worth a visit
A very busy port, there were 5 cruise ships in when we went. Did the Athens Panorama excursion and it was a late one- not until 2pm so was in the hottest part of the day. We visited a temple (can't remember the name and an arena). We saw the Acropolis from a distance so managed to get a decent photo and it was covered in scaffolding. Had a short while to souvenir shop and have a drink.
Beautiful port! Katakolon is a small village with a nice row of shops. We did the Spirit of Olympia excursion, so we visited the sight of the first Olympics and I ran along the stadium!! We then visited the museum on the sight as well. After the excursion, my mum and I had lunch on the ship and then went around the shops.
Third time in Gibraltar. We went to the botanical gardens by the cable car station and found a small wildlife park in it. All the animals were well kept for (the animals were either unwanted pets or animals confiscated by the Gibraltar authorities). We then did some shopping and had lunch after.
Very quick and easy as we were off 40 minutes before our given time. Found our suitcase in the terminal quickly and got a taxi to the train station home.
olldbob - very tempting. P&O is another line that intrigues me. Wish they recognized Princess loyalty, but, they do not. Even so, I am not ruling out the Azura someday.
