Best Vacation Ever! by JenniferD10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship was incredible. We had a wonderful time during the three port excursions, but were happy to have one full day at sea to explore all of the ship's features that we hadn't seen. There was always something fun to do or someplace great to eat!

BEST CRUISE EVER by AlexG4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

We recently sailed on the Adventures of the Seas, it was their first Transatlantic cruise. We have cruised with several cruise lines, but have cruised 4 times with Royal Caribbean. We were most impressed with the service in all areas. The ship layout was elegant and easy to navigate. There were many activities for all age groups. Four pools with one just for adults. Evening entertainment was excellent. Best cruise director of all the cruises we've been on. Very entertaining. Evening dinners were outstanding. We had a fabulous time on the cruise. We enjoyed the ports of call. We would highly recommend this cruise.

Recession Takes a Toll on Royal Cruises by NancyG14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This cruise was a disappointment. The ship is beautiful and definately huge, however, the food was not good most of the time and the cleanliness of the rooms was not good either. They never changed the sheets on the bed and use the same bedspread and throw pillows for every traveler week to week without washing them. The floor was stained and our room and floor had a terrible smell all the time which could have been coming from the service elevators.

improvement need for AOS by AubreyN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our stateroom tenant was the best and the highlight of the trip. He had all the answers and was always there for you. The guest services, waitstaff, and cruise director/staff were always clueless. THey were never able to provide the right information or assist. The night events weren't planned so both seating could attend the big events. For example: the art action, jewerly action, bingo ran late every time so 1st seating would get backed up.

Spectacular cruise by EricR53125330

Sail date: /
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship and cruise experience was spectacular, beyond my expectation. The staff were always courteous, friendly and helpful. The food in the main dining hall was excellent. The food in the Italian specialty restaurant, The Portofino, was nothing less than superb. We did not miss any of the evening shows in the Lyrica theatre. The musicians were superb and entertaining. Phil Tag, the comedian, was so funny, and can't wait to see him again on Jay Leno. We had perfect weather at all of our ports of call, and enjoyed snorkeling in Barbados and Antigua, and tree zip-lining in St. Lucia. The beaches were best on St. Maarten, esp. Orient beach. The port at St. Croix was disappointing, but the beaches are nice at the better resorts (we went to the Buccaneer). The shopping was also the best in St. Maarten. The cruise shopping director overpushed Diamonds International and Columbia Emeralds, and much fine jewelry, watches and local crafted products could be found at much better prices.

best vacation by JudyB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

That was the best vacation we ever had. The kid's club was open till 10 pm free of charge, and after that it was $5/hour per child. They were open till 2 am, so after dropping the kids at the kid's club we were going out every day. We haven't done that in a long time. The entertainment was great: something new each night: from ice skating show to the production show Vegas style to different type of music in the bars. The food was good, but nothing special and even though they had restaurants open 24 hours a day, I didn't put any weight on. The worst thing was, that after going to bed at 1-2 am, it was very difucult to get up early enough to be able to get to the tours that they had. Luckily, we were able to get a taxi and get to the beach without any problems. Fortunately, the beaches were the only interesting things on the islands. There wasn't anything else to see, except St. Marten, that has somewhat unusual history. Anyway, now we are thinking about going on a short cruise for a weekend, instead of going to Vegas, the place we used to go for a short out of town trip.

Nice Cruise by CarlosM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I think the ship and its personnel were excellent. The only issue I had was on one dinning night. They served Lobster and it was very small. They only served the tail. If they were only planned to serve the tail they could at least serve twin lobsters. Anyway, I was upset that night and went to eat at the buffet restaurant. Otherwise, it was excellent.

Great cruise by HollyG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We really enjoyed the wonderful staff, the beautiful and clean ship, and the variety of ports. However, the dress code in the dining room should be enforced, because night after night, while my husband and I were showered and dressed in pants and very nice tops, too many passengers came into the dining room in shorts, jeans and flip-flops, which were supposed to not be allowed. I understand the staff's job is to accommodate the passengers, but COME ON; someone really needs to just say NO, you can't wear that, please go change, or else go eat at the buffet.

Had a great time. by RuthD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We all thought that the Adventure of the Seas was a wonderful ship. Had alot for the adults and children to do. My grand children really had a good time. One thing is that they would have liked to have more time available to do the things for their age group, like ice skating. dancing, etc.

great cruise ship, terrible trip by KarenS31

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

ship was impressive. recommend suite with balcony. food was available at all times and had good selection. they did not have a chocolate night which I had been looking forward to. dining service was excellent. It was unfortunate that entire cruise was ruined by not being able to visit ports you paid to see. would not recommend booking cruise while this flu threat still present. 2 passengers had flu-like symptoms and were quarantined which seemed enough however ports going to were fearful and would not let us dock. so we sat out on the ocean moving slowly back with a ship full of angry and upset passengers. did not receive any compensation for this.

A Wonderful Cruise by VickiN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

enjoyed this particular cruise with the two days at sea and just four ports-o-call. Loved the new dinning situaion where we could choose our time to dine each night. The best plan ever. Enjoyed Golf and Shuffle board on board. Food and food servers were great. Tyrone and Martin were very excellent. We were traveling with Vegatarian/Vegans. Since this seems to be the wave of the future amoung many, it would be great to have at each dinner a Vegan/Vegetarian meal. Although Tyrone made great and wonderfully appreciated efforts to keep our friends fed with good tasting foor, it would be so much better to have a dish each night on the menue that is gourmet. They ate alot of steamed vegetable which got old fast. The rooms are roomie and very nice. Ports of call were to short. Ship cleanliness was appreciated. Staff kind and gracious. Loved the pizza and sandwich place. Needed to have Vegan/Vegetarian sandwiches there. Roasted vegetable sandwich was great but had mayonaise. REally nice time. Once of the best cruises. Oh, like the adult pool area-no kids and no loud music.

Great Service by BlakeJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The service on board was absolutely amazing! Food was great, especially portofinos. For the money, a cruise is the best bang for your buck. We went on our honeymoon and everything was awesome. There are a lot of people on the ship, but most of the time you have no idea. There were a couple times it was a little crowded, but its a cruise, and that's one of the reasons you get so much for so little.

My Latest Excursion on Royal by LouiseS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have travelled with Royal Carribean for years. I am always very inmpressed with the service and the friendliness of the staff. This is my 2nd or 3rd trip on Adventure of the seas. I was a little disappointed this trip. Some of the interior of the ship could use a touch up. The carpets in the walkways my deck (6) were stained. Also the bathroom in my cabin didn't look clean beacuse the tiles are rusitng and fading. Also, Royal has instituted some charges, (room service and cover charges) that have not been there in the past. All that said, I am still a Royal fan. I just hope they keep the standard of the ship at what I've grown to expect.
