John & Jenni's 2nd honeymoon by txgaljenni

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was what I expected, classy & clean.  The crew were amazing especially considering the hours they put in 7 months at a time.  I am beyond thrilled I booked this cruise through AA!  Our cabin attendant went above & beyond to make my bed softer and take care of us.  I would recommend Royal Caribbean to anyone.  In fact, we are looking to book another cruise next year to the British Islrs or Baltic.  Thank you AA!  And by the way, we flew first class on American and the flights were perfect!

Shore Excursions by rdickerson1950

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I strongly recommend you not go on the Sunny Liston, St Thomas excursion, for the cost of that excursion and what you get it's ridiculous.  The entire excursion was nothing more than a "hook-up" for his buddies.

One of the passengers on the tour had a seizure and instead of call 911 or taking him to the hospital he continued recklessly driving to a site where one of his buddies was with a pick-up truck filled with coconuts and rum all the while the guy was who had the seizure was still in the back of the truck unconscious.

We did not leave this place until most of the coconuts and rum had been sold.  There was nothing at this location except his buddy.

Next he proceeds on to the beach location while we are asking him what about the guy who is sick, finally he calls 911 and the ambulance meets us at the beach at least an hour to an hour and a half later.  My husband and I both demanded to be taken back to the ship.  I plan to file a formal complaint and ask for a refund for the money I paid for this horrible excursion.

What a waste of money.

Beware of Promenade Rooms!!! by Islandgirls

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We booked our cruise & they upgraded us to a Promenade Room.  This is a room that faces the inside of the boat.  In other words, it is literally over the shopping mall, bars, & other places.  Our room was 2 levels on top of their bar.  It was absolutely awful!!!  We could not go back to our room & rest as usual- after a day on the islands.  All we would hear is BEATS to Rock n Roll!  Also at night, below us, a guy sang in the bar till 12:30 in the morning!  The beat music would start up at 7-7:30 in the morning!!!  We called the front desk several times.  The boat was completely booked.  Finally, one day the front desk called us & told us they could move us to another room!!  That was really nice!!  Anyway, if you don't want to party till 1:30 in the morning, or if you want peace & quiet, STAY AWAY from the Promenade rooms!!!

Royal Awesomeness as usual by mitchied57attnet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was the best cruise I have been on and this was my 4th.  My second time on the Adventure of the Seas.  That first time was 10 yrs ago and the ship still looks great.  I'll be anxious to see what they do during the dry-dock refurbishment; I just know it'll be beautiful.  The staff, like my other Royal Caribbean cruises, never disappoint.  From the Cabin staff, to Dining, to Bartenders and everyone in between, we were always greeted with a smile and eagerness to provide the best possible service.

RC VS Carnival cruise by JennyHensel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was a cruise that was 2.5 weeks apart from a recent cruise I had on the Carnival Magic. So. There was lots of comparing going on.

Ships were about the same size.

Food in the MDR was about the same. Nothing special

The mixed drinks is where the biggest difference is. On Carnival the drinks are pretty much perfect wherever you go on the ship. On RC I wasted a LOT of drinks due to they weren't drinkable. Which was a shame.

Now, the drink packages!!! RC wins HANDSDOWN!! They are unlimited and there's seriously a package for everyone! We personally really enjoyed the Scooner bar. I do admit that I missed Carnival's Alchemy bar. RC was really good about having lots of activities going on around the ship. Let's move onto our deck 7 interior cabin. It was actually a nice size. Con the two twins they pushed together were different heights! The beds were very uncomfortable. But, our room had tons of storage! Way more than Carnival! I liked how we had one big closet vs 3 small closets. Much more space to work with and it held our luggage nicely. Overall, I would cruise with RC again. Thank you for getting my last minute booking made! It was bucket list of islands for us!

A very nice relaxing getaway by cjcpeterson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was a beautiful cruise.  All of the islands we stopped at were beautiful in their own way.  If you love beaches, every island had a variety of beaches to choose from.  It was nice to be at a different island everyday, and to only travel at night on the boat except the last day.  I am gluten intolerant, and they were so great about the food.  Every night they would give me the menu for the next day, and I would order my meal so it could be made gluten free.  The staff was so nice.

Relaxing Vacation by linda2848

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

First timers on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas and we enjoyed every minute of it. We took advantage of just about everything the ship had to offer.  I have to say Giovanni's Restaurant was "outstanding"!  We would definitely have dinner there again.  We loved Claudia at the Champagne Bar, and also the quiet, relaxing late nights at the Blue Moon Lounge.  But the most fun was the big 70's party on the Promenade.  For our first time, we had a blast!!

Best Cruise Ever! by leannc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Awesome cruise!  Loved being at a different port everyday.  Very busy but tons of fun.  The ship is showing her age a little bit but was still very pleasant.  We were booked in an Owner's Suite and it was fabulous.  The concierge and concierge lounge was an extremely nice benefit.  Loved every minute and would book the exact same cruise again!  Love

Spring getaway by mbanks4590

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Adventure of thr Seas is still in pretty good shape. We were told she is going in for refurbishing at the end of the month. Food was marginal but lots of it. Room was nice (Grand Suite) everything worked. We enjoyed the itinerary which is why we took the cruise.  Lack of speciality dining options was an issue that is being addressed during the refurbishment.

Great Cruise by gsxrwoman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

AOS was an amazing cruise for our family!  Issues where that I paid to have my family sitting together on the flights and because of an error with the agent he had to change the name last minute which made our seats sitting apart and we could not get seated together.  VERY upsetting considering I was handicapped and needed family assistance to walk on the plane with my twins.  Rianna on the ship was the worst ever!!!  STILL cannot get our guarantee on the jewelry I purchased.  Trying to book another cruise and agent is not available so please have another agent contact me.

Adventure of the Seas by Blakesley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The staff as always was attentive and helpful. Cleanliness standards were again as always excellent. The cruise never felt overcrowded. The ship though going for an overhaul in October was still beautiful. Our first cruise was on this ship appx. fourteen years ago. The entertainment was very boring and cheesy in our opinion. The ports were interesting and reasonably priced as were our tours. Though some of our fellow travelers loved Dominica we felt it was dirty and seriously lacking infrastructure.

Great vacation- worry free! by SR123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We loved our vacation- everything went as planned and thanks to Kerri with BJ's for arranging everything and making it a carefree experience, as a vacation should be. Weather was warm and the destinations were beautiful. We utilized the BJ's excursions which were better than the Royal Caribbean excursions- and that review from fellow cruisers. Just wish it had been longer!Happy

Awesome Experience by jjones959

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Check in procedure was very smooth.  Left hotel at 12:30 P.M., Hotel took bags from hotel to ship.  Checked on boat and ordered first drink at 1:30 P.M.  Rooms were not available until 2PM, no big deal.  We had a JR. SUITE very back of ship. Room 7392, fantastic views and plenty of storage in room for luggage, clothes etc.  Full size bathroom with shower/tub combo, very nice.  Food was excellent.  Especially at Italian restaurant for a fee.  Best crab/shrimp ravioli EVER!  Mozzarella stuffed appetizer was fabulous.  Wait staff at main dining (my time) deck 5 were very helpful.  Ship had great entertainment, especially in pub across from sports bar!  Singer was awesome in the PUB.  Kieren Cox was his name.  Each port was different and had things to do for everyone.  Best port was Barbados.  Went to private beach, food, drink was great.  They had two rope swings, trampoline, jet ski rental etc.  Blue water, sandy beach everywhere.  Only disappointing port was St. Croix, not much at port at all and the beach was very rocky.  Watched the planes land in Dominica that was INSANE!  This ship is going dry dock for upgrades but I loved the ship.  It was sold out and did not seem crowded at all.  I would take this trip again very soon!

not as good as other cruises we have been on by fazio2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The entertainment on the ship wasn't as good as its been in the past, the comedian/ magician were good but that was about it.  The windjammer was good and so was giovannis but the main dining room and our waiter not good at all.

we did a shore excursion in St Croix that was horrible and not worth the money

would think twice before doing another Royal Carribean cruise

Good Times on the Adventure of the Sea by pfagel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were a little worried that we would not like this big of a ship, but it was beautiful, easy to get around and had super fast elevators.  It did not seem to have over 3,000 passengers on board because there were so many little lounges, and places to go to hear music or read or sit by the pool.  Food was excellent, and the service was top notch.  We went with some Canadian friends that were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and they had a once in a lifetime experience.  Even though this ship is going into dry-dock in October for some refurbishing, don't let that stop you from booking. It is very well maintained and shows very little wear.  We will book Royal Caribbean again.  This was our 11th cruise, so we have been on many ships, but this one was great.
