Best Cruise Ever!! by RonC3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We sailed on the Norwegian Jewel leaving Barcelona on August 6. . The ship is just beautiful (very colorful) and very well maintained. The ship is large but easy to find your way around. Plenty of elevators to get up and down the decks. We had a mini-suite which was very comfortable for three people. The staff is outstanding. Embarkation and debarkation were the easiest we ever experience. The option to take your own luggage off the ship at the end of the cruise was very easy and smooth.

A Great time! by JanineS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We recently sailed on the Voyager of the Seas! It was a fantastic cruise. The ship was huge but you never had to wait in line for anything. The food was good and the waiters were great. The ports were great and the ship activities were fun! We would definitely take a Royal Caribbean Cruise again! Thanks!

A very busy cruise destination by SarahD4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Jewel offered what they call "free style dining". This allows you to choose the time that you want to eat your dinner vs. having a set time that you must arrive in the main dining rooms. Other speciality restaurants were offered, although you usually needed a reservation. Service was a top priority with Norwegian, unfortunately, I felt at times that it made the atmosphere overly formal. It was difficult to feel relaxed with the crew at times, especially in the main dining rooms as there is a definite protocol for service. I would recommend this ship for older teens and adults.

The Perfect Mediterranean Experience by MartinD4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Sinfonia is a well appointed vessel with many new facilities and emenities. The staff, crew, entertainment, and service was excellent. From the reception staff to the food service staff, without exception everyone was genuinely kind, pleasant and accomidating. We could not have asked for better service. As I travel quite a bit for my profession, I have become accustom to five start accomidations and hospitality. I was very much at home on the Sinfonia. A truly exceptional experience.

A 'Jewel' of a Trip! by MarilynF2

The ship was magnificent in appearance. The interior colors and decoration were fun, rich, and cleverly executed! No expense was spared in the finishes. The cabins were nicely designed and efficient. We loved our Mini-Suite with the balcony!

good way to see Europe by KM123410629

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship was enormous, biggest one we've been on yet. Our first cruise with RCL and probably our last. The itinerary was great and the accomodations were very good, but the prices were high. The ships registry make the VAT charges suspect, but we will file for return. the laundry prices are exorbitant and other items were very pricey. The ship's shopping was poor, all cold weather clothes for summer in the Med and not great deals on other things. While we loved the places we saw, and the ship's staff and crew were absolutely wonderful, we will probably not cruise with RCL again.

Great sights and beautiful ship by HeidiG1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We just got back from a Mediterranean cruise on the Jewel and had a great time. The destination cities and cruise-arranged excursions were first rate! The ship was new and very nice. Excellent gym facilities! Generally, staff was very good; although some of the officers at the front desk were a bit snobby. Food was a average, not as good as Disney. Freestyle dining is a great concept, but comes with an additional per meal surcharge for most of the restaurants and although they say that reservations are recommended, we were hassled when we asked to be seated without a reservation, although the restaurant was 75% empty. Bands were very good, but other entertainment was mediocre. We had a "mini-Suite" which was nice, but no bigger than the normal size room on Disney.

Dream cruise by LilyaF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was my second cruise with NCL. I was glad to see that on this ship- Norwegean Jewal - rooms are bigger than on Norwegian Sea. The balcony is such a luxery! We will remember forever sunsets and quite time we spent there. The ship is big but feels very convinient, easy to reach any place you are going... the only disappointment we had with excursions. They are pricy and that's why we expected more. More professional guides, more flexibility in choosing tours, better resourants. The big exception was tour to Florence wher everything was high class. It is pricy but worthy. Overall I recommend this cruise to everybody.

The ship and the entire staff, from airport and hotel transfers to the wonderful people and service that we enjoyed on the boat, was simply fantastic. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

fine, but could be better by BellaG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We liked the design of the ship; we appreciated the cleanliness and very good appearance of the ship. The waiters were very nice and tried their best, but not fully schooled: the waiter did not held the bottle of wine with a towel and dropped wine on my pants.

Norwegian Jewel by PatM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

It was overall a great trip. Personal were very friendly and helpful. Shows were good to great. Excursions were well organized. Ship was very clean. Infection control measures of the ship were outstanding. Hand sanitizers placed everywhere on board. Ship is very large, easy to get turned around. Freestyle dining was much better than set dining times especially when the excursions may have come in later than expected. Speciality resturants were difficult to obtain a reservation unless done the first night of the cruise for the entire week. Main dining rooms Azure and Zsar's Palace needed no reservation and were very good. Transport arranged through the Cruiseline from the airport to the port was a mess. Not enough buses available, Many names were not on the list for transport (0nly 2 of our 4 names were listed.) Ended up waiting 3.5 hours for more buses to come and transport us to the port. This was the last thing we wanted to do after traveling all night. Hopefully this has been worked out since we were the first cruise out of the Barcelona port this season.

Not as nice as our first!!! by RichardS24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Jewel was very disappointing. This was our second cruise this year and The Spirit was much nicer. In the center of the Spirit, with the grand stairway and atrium, glass elevators, places to dance, resturants not as bunched together, and the staff was better organized and nicer. We were late leaving on all of our shore excursions. Once ashore the guides were good but we missed a tour because we were late getting back to the ship by hours - not minutes. Numerous times, we were without water or it was black in our stateroom. The coffee machines did not always work. The food never changed in the buffet area. The food was always fried and not any variety like broiled meat. More soups would have been nice.

A nice and clean cruise ship by Michelle2116316

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was the second time cruising with Norwegian Cruise Lines. I upgraded to a balcony stateroom which was awesome. The only downfall were some restaurants were booked solid. My advice would be to make reservations at the beginning of the week for the entire week. Alot of private parties were booked - did not like that. The overall cruise was smooth, clean and staff members were very nice. The only regret is that I would want the cruise ship to spend more time in Rome, Italy.

Lovely cruise by JoannG9177666

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This ship is about one year old and very well maintained. The cabins are good size with the most storage I've ever had. The bath is small but adequate. The outside rooms have a very large picture window. The public rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
