Review summary

We sailed on the Norwegian Jewel leaving Barcelona on August 6. . The ship is just beautiful (very colorful) and very well maintained. The ship is large but easy to find your way around. Plenty of elevators to get up and down the decks. We had a mini-suite which was very comfortable for three people. The staff is outstanding. Embarkation and debarkation were the easiest we ever experience. The option to take your own luggage off the ship at the end of the cruise was very easy and smooth.

Ports of call

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We took a ship tour that included Pisa and time in Liverno at a beach on the coast. We had plenty of time at the leaning towere to shop and tour. Very nice time except the beach tour did not include a meal which was dissapointing given what we paid for the tour.
Don't Miss: Leaning tower.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
We took a city tour which included Nice and Ese. Tour spent considerable time in the main shopping square which was a lot of fun.
Don't Miss: Medieval city of Ese was outstanding.

Messina, Sicily

We got off the ship and took a horse drawn carriage ride around the downtown area. We then just did some sight seeing and shopping.
Don't Miss: The Cathedral in the center of the city.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
We took a tour called the Treasures and Taste of Naples. Probably the best tour we took. Included a tour of the old city to include the Cathedral and a lunch at a restaurant that included pizza, wine and dessert.
Don't Miss: The old town.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We toured on our own spending the day at the Vatican and the Museums. Was very easy to get from the dock to the Vatican using the train. Also considerably cheaper. We did not wait in any lines for more than 20 minutes.
Don't Miss: Vatican and Sistene Chapel.
