MSC Sinfonia

Sail date: April 16, 2006

Ship: MSC Sinfonia

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

This ship is about one year old and very well maintained. The cabins are good size with the most storage I've ever had. The bath is small but adequate. The outside rooms have a very large picture window. The public rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

Very exotic - very interesting. Go to the town with the blue doors. visit the Casbah shopping. It's a scene out of Casablanca/

The cathedral is a must - see. Also, the pearl factory can be skipped, because pearls are sold everywhere and can be purchased cheaper elsewhere.
Don't Miss: The cathedral

Marseille (Provence), France

My absolute favorite stop. I went to Aix en Provence and was enchanted. It was like stepping back a hundred years.
Don't Miss: Aix en Provence - buy the lavendar sachets (about $1 each)

Palermo, Sicily

So much to see and do, one day isn't enough. The Sicilian specialties in food must be tried, especially the Pasta con Sardo, Riceballs, Cassata.
Don't Miss: The Capuchin Monestary (you view the tombs - bodies are on display and all dressed up.

Barcelona, Spain

Stay out of Napoli. It is dangerous, dirty and has high crime. Pompei or Capri are alternate choices for this port and they are glorious.
Don't Miss: Pompeii or The Blue Grotto
