Mazatlan is run down. We got an open air taxi down to the Golden Zone. Shops are all the same. Ate at Panchos. Really good food and drinks. Beach is nice. Parasailed there and that was nice.

Ship was next to Stone Island. We did the $2 water taxi and went back 50 years in time.

Don't go on self excursions. It's a trek to get from the port into the town.

Didn't plan excursion. Took cab to a golden zone resort. After spending time at resort walked around. Found a small local restaurant. 14.00 meal for 2 .... A LOT of food. Less touristy town. Loved it! Felt safe. (sorry forgot name of restaurant. Also, many local vendors didn't take US currency.

I felt safe walking on the blue line from port to town. Plenty of cops and helpful volunteers. But don't go off the beaten path.

If you like to walk, there is a blue line leading from the port to old town. The main square in old town is surrounded by sidewalk cafes and is a very pleasant place to hang out. Walking the malecon is also very nice.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! You dock in a COMMERCIAL dock with barges , nothing is close, waste of time and your safety is at risk!
