Review summary

The cruise, overall, was good but not exceptional. This cruise lacked many fine amenities of other cruises in the same NCL line as well as other lines in general.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dinning rooms were nice but not exceptional as has been on other ships. The Ginza served fine Asian dishes but you had to get there early to get a seat without an hour to hour and a half wait. The buffet was fair at best. The variety daily was lacking. As an example, only one day they had hot pannini style sandwiches. the selections were generally the same daily on the main dishes with a few new items.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We like to do activities during sea days, but not much peaked our interests. We are seasoned cruisers and the itinerary was lacking. As an example, i like to sing Kareoke but it was not on nightly as on other cruises and their sign up required us to pick blindly as their list, which is electronic, was broken. when we picked a song many times we were told it is not in the system. The venue was way too small also. We had hoped for activities such as "behind the scene" tours, but that was not available, if it was it was not published. The craft activity was on Port days, not sea days. in past cruises on NCL they had dinner with the Officers, for the general populus, but that was not offered on this ship.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows we attended were very good, especially the comedian, Tim Kominski. The comedy of the magician, however, was not very good.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was exceptional, the waiters were excellent short of one. I noticed too many staff members not looking happy. This reflects a bad situation somewhere in their area.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All areas were very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
as inside cabins go, this was the smallest one we have ever had, but is was doable. everything worked well and the cabin steward, Maria, was excellent.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
Not one of the better ports on the itinerary

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took an excursion to Stone Island and went to a beach resort. Had a very pleasant time.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
It is a nice port, not exceptional. We decided to make a day at the local beach a walking distance away.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
To much time delay. The disembarkment was not well orchestrated. As a Gold Lattitudes member were were supposed to have priority disembarkment, but that did not happen. The system was broken for efficency.
