I'm not sure why the picture came out so big, but this is a picture of a couple of people running to catch the ship in Cozumel. They were treated to a sarcastic round of applause from people on deck & on their balconies.

We witnessed a couple running down the dock. There names had been called over the PA a few times. The captain waited but not too terribly long before setting off. The ship was about 30 feet pulled away already. They just stood there in disbelief waving their arms. We had to get to dinner so I am not sure how the drama ended. Time zone changes, ship's time not in sync with island time, spending the day sucking down margaritas at Carlo's and Charlie's, having a cab or bus break down or simply not paying attention to the clear instructions as to return and departure times... people make their own choices and suffer the consequences of their outcomes. While I do not like to see anyone left behind, it's not like things are spelled out in black and white.

I feel that too. Seeing people just schlepping back real slowly. We have all seen it. I was in Nassau one time and was on Fantasy. I looked out the lido window and sure enough people were late. We left 30 minutes late. I personally don't have a problem staying in port for a bit longer because Im on vacation. What gets me is what you said about "total lack of concern for others" and I hate that.

No - just a total lack of concern for others Angry

I had it on DVR! I watched it the first time, but seeing as I'm going to be on her Saturday, I felt a re-watch was necessary.. That was their inaugural sailing too, so i'm thinking they were a little extra nice.

I don't think they can use the excuse.... "We couldn't find the ship" when you look at how the size comparison with the other ships were.

I watched on The Smithsonian channel last night on Mighty Ships.... Oasis of the Seas. They were trying to leave port but were missing a 140 idiot stragglers. They were filming from the bridge and interviewing the captain. He ordered for the crew to go to the dock and start looking for people shuffling along. The idiots started showing up. He waited 40 minutes for the last of the morons but he had called the line handlers and if they dumbasses didn't show he said he hates to leave them but he will. The last of them finally got there. Ship lost its time slot to depart because the Carnival ship behind her was leaving. The Captain had to run full speed to make it to Nassau on time and says it can put a strain on the engines and also consumes a lot of fuel. I was mad. I gave my TV the finger at the late morons. I was so hoping to see them stranded on the dock. Angry I would have cheered. Happy

Love having a balcony on the pier side of the ship. Makes for a nice view when the ship blows it's horn that it is about to leave.

We always get back over an hour before the ship is to depart. The thought of being late terrifies me, and I don't want to star in someone else's video on You Tube as the oldest pier runner .....Wink

I thought Pier Runners are listed on the events for the days entertainment ? I think the ship should hand out popcorn and sell drinks to wave and laugh as they run for the ship.Wink
