Horrible Travel Advior

This is my first cruise with Silversea cruises that I have booked and it is a long cruise which I have some questions. Has anyone experienced having a Travel advior who was terrible with this cruise line? Never calls back, so I call the main line and leave a message with his colleagues for him to call me back and still don’t hear from him. My final payment is due and now I am questioning if this line is as good as they write because so far has not been my experience. Has anyone else had a problem with their travel advior/booking agent?

Never cruised with them...and never had a problem reaching our "advisors" on other lines...other than the fact we haven't really had to the past year...I think we reached out to ours at NCL re some cancellation/refund/rebooking crap. Look at it this way, suppose you shoved more money at em for that final payment, and had some sort of a problem and really needed to speak to someone, What would you feel about them then??? Customer service is supposed to be front and center with cruise lines...Lately, not so much.......

I think I've been jinxed!!! hehe...had a question re our online check in date for ours of 11/27 on CCL....logging into our acct says 11/13...14 days out...fine....created HUB acct same booking 3, THAT says OCT 28???? so...I call...hopeless...you can have lunch waiting for them...decided to let them call me...system accepted my pho#, message says will cb (call back)with next available human...hang up...pho rings immediately! its CCL!! push any button to continue..ok...WRONG...same message as b4, heavy call volume, wait at least 15 min...tried it 2x...same recording..BAH!..wander to PC, tried to get CCL "the hard way" WRONG!! message from CCL...OOPS website is down, they're working on it...mebbe that explains why they can't talk on the phone...they have nothing to tell anyone with the system down...

So what do I do? mebbe I'll try tomorrow...and yes...that particular cruise is PIF.......(sorry BILGE, thats paid-in-full to you heheheheh)

OOOPS! system back up....well....not so fast!!! login takes you in circles...one more time...back to the OOPS!.but I've had enough of them for today!!!!

I'm a strong advocate for a good TA instead of the actual cruise line for answers. Their job is to get you answers and do all the dirty work. They will work hard for you or look for another job if they don't perform. And your loyalty to the TA gets you additional perks when you came back to book. My TA and I know each other by name. Do you know your cruise line representative by name?

Now if you're talking about problems with your TA instead of the cruiseline rep, I would strongly suggest looking for another TA who will give better service. They're out there!

Yes I know his name, all about his family and the cruises he has gone on. This guy acts like a car salesman to me. I finally got a hold of him on the final day of payment after 3 more calls and said I want to know my confirmed cabin # before paying and said he would call me back with that shortly. Well, never called back, the day has passed with the 1,000 dollar off advance payment. No email, nothing. I have to go above him now and it has been a HORRIBLE experience so far with SILVERSEAS CRUISE LINE....still questioning as of this moment if I should jump ship on this one. #silverseas #cruise #silverseascruise

We have had a few poor PVPs (personal vacation planners) with Carnival. We did finally he a very good one and he got promoted out of the job. We got a second good one and she retired. Now we have a very good one that is great at returning calls. All I can suggest is go above your agents head and get another one this hopefully better. Sorry this is happening. Hopefully, the cruise itself will make up for it.

We have cruised with Silversea and had a fantastic time – one of our best cruises ever! Are your issues with someone at Silversea? We have an amazing independent Travel Advisor who handles all of our trips with every cruise line and resort. I hope you get your questions answered. We found the shipboard experience with Silversea to be outstanding!

If y'all read the OP's original posts, it appears his TA is just this side of being a crook. Might even be one. TA's ripping folks and organizations off is more common that anyone wants to admit...You folks may have had amazing experiences on board with SILVERSEA ships, but unless he reports back that all is well, he may never actually get on board. Put yourselves in his shoes...Send em MORE $$????? Really????

I book with Vacations To Go, never had a problem with them. I've been working with the same agent for years, he's fabulous!

We have been using our TA for the past 10 years. She is awesome and never fails to go above and beyond even after our travel is over. She is a keeper.
