Carnival Elation

April 2023 - 5 Night Bahamas (Jacksonville Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Elation

Simple Fun & Relaxation

Out of 7 cruises, this tops number 3. We prefer smaller ships and even with the age of the Elation the ship is well maintained. The decks are overall easy to navigate, enough onboard activities to satisfy simple needs and pleasures. The food on our trip was decent, and our stateroom was good and spacious. All the crew were great as usual.

Carnival Conquest

Carnival Freedom

May 2022 - 5 Night Eastern Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Freedom

This Ship was on Fire, but still was amazing!!!

Overall this cruise was one to remember forever. Before the fire it was going excellent. The day of the fire was scary of course but the crew handled it perfectly…however many passengers including myself didn’t get a knock on our door to notify us about the ongoing emergency and the announcements were hard to hear from inside the rooms. I had to go out to one of the hallway muster guides to ask what was going on when I was told to report to our muster stations. During the emergency the crew handled all of us and the situation as they should when we were heading to our assigned stations and while we were waiting at our lifeboat areas. After the emergency and while we were stuck in Grand Turk we had a fully functioning ship except the fact it couldn’t set sail and we got to spend a day and half extra on the ship and Grand Turk. The Conquest arrived around 4pm and the transfer was easy onto that ship. Always wanted to try a back to back cruise so that was a definite plus. Overall regardless what happened the whole trip was amazing and an unique experience of a lifetime.

Carnival Sunrise

February 2022 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Sunrise

Great Birthday Cruise (Ship Only)

Overall we loved the Carnival Sunrise. Everything went great. Service was impeccable. Our original cabin was a porthole interior, but was upgraded to an ocean view after Carnival emailed us stating our cabin was not being used for guest occupancy. We got into our ocean view only to find that there was a really bad gas odor emitting from the vents so we had it investigated and got upgraded to a balcony for free. Can’t complain on that lol. The ports of call were disappointing. However we both wanted a more chill and inexpensive trip and decided not to do excursions which could of enhanced the ports but they felt like price gouging ripoffs more than anything. The highlight was the ship itself which is what you pay for anyways until you book excursions. Celebrated my birthday onboard and the staff acknowledged and accommodated the celebration excellently. Overall loved the voyage.

Carnival Liberty

February 2020 - 4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Liberty

Sailed Before...Exceeded the Previous.

Overall this cruise was just like before but was by far better than the last when it came to the crew and the activities we did this time.

Norwegian Getaway

February 2018 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Unforgettable Getaway

Overall this cruise was great besides the fact the seas were kind of rough every night except the last night. Many passengers and some crew mentioned as well that the seas were a bit rough causing people to get seasick including myself but managed to still moderately enjoy the cruise. The ports and balcony cabin were definitely more of the highlights. Would recommend NCL but beware they do nickel dime you.

Carnival Liberty

May 2017 - 4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Liberty

One of our BEST Vacations!

This was my fiancé and our first cruise experience and it was amazing. Everything went so smoothly and their was not a single thing that was flawed. We had purchased Faster to the Fun (FTTF) and was worth every penny making you feel like a true VIP. Embarking and disembarking was very simple and easy. Again, no flaws in our trip, even when I got sick from heat exhaustion and improper hydrating; the ships medical center took ultimate care of my well-being and was back to normal that same day. It was just an interesting and unexpected experience having to visit the sick bay. In order to truly enjoy a vacation you have to accept the unexpected. Our room steward Mark was absolutely incredible and his hospitality was over the top. The crew in general was exceptionally friendly. The ship being 13 years old was in excellent condition even though it is true from one review of pungent smells in certain areas of the ship but overall the ships decor and quality was beautiful. This trip being our first time out of the country decided to go basic and small so the Bahamas was a general choice. We weren't disappointed with Nassau it was a nice port (be aware of where you go though in Nassau) and compared to Freeport which wasn't as nice. Visiting the Bahamas was definitely an experience and a life lesson on our lifestyle. This cruise was definitely one epic and enjoyable vacation. Carnival is a great line for the young and people who want to have fun and live a little. Despite the mishaps of Carnivals past disasters; things happen but this trip surely has made us Carnival cruise fans and would love to sail with them again!

Cruise tips

Jacksonville, Florida

Simple port. Outdoor parking. Staff were friendly. Was able to board under a hour when we arrived even when we arrived about two hours early.

Nassau, Bahamas

The port is beautiful to look at but that’s about it for us. We’ve been there a few times and don’t care for the experiences as the people do nothing but haggle you severely. So this has become a port we stay on the ship for.

Carnival Freedom

Carnival Freedom

Watch out for the funnel lol.

Bimini, Bahamas

We were suppose to go to Grand Cayman but our itinerary was changed to Bimini. This port offered little to nothing without having to book expensive excursions that weren’t worth it so we stayed on the ship.

Miami, Florida

Being the most popular cruise port in the world, it was very simple to get through.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

We were very excited to visit Jamaica. However, we didn’t book any excursions and because of local restrictions, we were forced to stay within the cruise port and were treated like walking wallets and felt like we were in an outdoor mall than at an exotic port. We stayed on the ship.

Nassau, Bahamas

Second visit to Nassau. Did a bus tour and visited some local places and tour guide was wonderful. Locals are super aggressive with selling.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Nice private island with very soft and white sand, very clear and light blue waters, amenities were great. A couple of passengers we met prior to this port invited us to their two floor cabana which was very unexpected but if you have the money it’s worth it especially if you have a group. It’s a tender port and the boats transferring you to and from the ship can get very rocky so beware if you’re prone to seasickness.

Carnival Liberty

Carnival Liberty

The aft elevators are least populated.

Cozumel, Mexico

This port was pretty neat. We did an all inclusive dolphins excursion were you got to pet and learn tricks and ride a dolphin. Very friendly creatures and friendly staff. Drinks and food included as well as being able to do other water activities that were included like snorkeling and paddle boarding. The water you wade in with the dolphins is really cold and very deep which is roughly 30 feet deep but you are required to wear a life jacket.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Wow this port is really interesting. From what our tour guide told us on our way to our excursion of wildlife experience was that the traffic doesn’t have any speed limits or hardly any traffic rules. The bus driver has to dodge really nasty potholes and crazy drivers but made it more exhilarating. When we got to our excursion, we got to see really huge Igunas, held Macaws and monkeys. Don’t worry, the animals are not kept in captivity. It was totally worth it if you like animals.

Harvest Caye, Belize

We had purchased one of the private cabanas and it is unbelievablely amazing. You have a shuttle that takes you to and from the enterance to the cabana, free WIFI, four cushioned lounge chairs on the deck of the cabana, one hammock, four cushioned lounge chairs on the private beach, AC, comfortable couches, mini fridge, Bluetooth speaker, full bathroom, and cabana servers. Food and drinks are not included in any package deals though. The shops and wild life experience was okay.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

This port was pretty nice. We did the Mayan Ruins tour with a private luncheon at one of the locals houses and had an authentic Mexican lunch all made from scratch. Also we were informed by our local tour guide that the water is safe to wash your hands with just not to drink the water that comes from any tap. It is still recommended to consume bottled water.

Miami, Florida

My first visit to Miami and it was awesome. The port was very different from Port Canaveral. It was much busier since it is one of the most active cruise ship ports. Very professional staff.

Norwegian Getaway

Norwegian Getaway

The fish on the carpets in the hallways of the cabins face forward of the ship! Also, you can use a card of any sorts to stick into the slot of the power source like a rewards card or similar, just remember to turn off the power when not in the room to conserve power for other usage on the ship. Also if you get a balcony and never been in one before, be careful when opening the front door of your cabin if you have the balcony door open. It will slam shut and they are metal.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

A lot of debris and destruction still from recent hurricanes if you travel from the sea port. Haggling can become very frustrating. Easy place to loose a lot of money in but deals can be great. Friendly people though.

Nassau, Bahamas

Traffic is crazy! Be very careful when renting your own vehicle to site see. People are friendly. Easy deals to make.
