Finally retired and able to enjoy my cruise hobby.

Past cruises

Island Princess

January 2023 - 14 Night Panama Canal - Ocean To Ocean Westbound (Ft. Lauderdale To Los Angeles) Cruise on Island Princess

One of our least favorite cruises.

We have traveled on 12 cruises with Princess over the years, but this might be our last. Cruise line is going down hill in a hurry since bought by Carnival Corp. Food gets worse every year with food overcooked or undercooked. Service used to be a priority, but not now. We have been on over twenty cruises and changes have to be made and we understand. You don't have to give up things that draw passengers, like QUALITY & SERVICE.

Enchanted Princess

September 2022 - 7 Night Canada & New England (New York Roundtrip) Cruise on Enchanted Princess

Worst Cruise Ever

Where to start, NY City LGA was terrible. Transfer to ship was paid for, but had to take Uber to ship. The transfer bus left without anyone, and we were told to find our own way to the ship. Fiona (hurricane) came to visit Canada and canceled three of our five stops. Princess did, as Princess always does, compensated us for missed ports and Uber rides. We understand that Princess does not control the weather. However, the lack of crew and the untrained crew is not Princess. Our 12th Princess Cruise and 23 overall.

Covid on ship

For those that wonder what happens on a ship when covid strikes, here is a summary. Aboard Emerald Princess for 14-day cruise to the Caribbean. Seven days into the cruise, I caught covid. When I felt the symptoms, was tested by Medical and was positive. I was told to pack everything that was mine and twenty minutes later was taken to a floor 2 decks above and placed in a normal room matching my purchased cabin for 5 days of isolation. My wife was left in her room (in quarantine) and could go anywhere, but had to eat all meals in her room. Next day she tested positive and joined me. Four days past and we were retested and still positive. We were not allowed to leave our cabin but could order anything we wanted and it was delivered to our room, placed on a table outside the door. The deliverer would knock and step away from the door. Trash was placed on the table and picked up during the day. Since CDC states that 10 days must pass before flying we were put in a contracted hotel (price based on your cabin type) till the time passes to fly. All meals are brought to your room where you continued isolation.

Great ship.

Enjoyed getting back on board Princess after several years away. We miss the old days of midnight buffets and fruit carving.

Celebrity Equinox

April 2019 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

Very Nice Cruise

Cruising on Equinox was our second on this ship and Celebrity took good care of us with the exception of a misunderstanding with our billing.

Norwegian Epic

January 2019 - 11 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Large ship with plenty of lines. Loudest ship at sea. Speakers say to loud.

This ship way to large for our liking. Don't know if we will be back on NC.

Koningsdam

November 2018 - 10 Night Southern Caribbean Seafarer (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Koningsdam

This ship was the smallest of the HAL fleet so we were told. Beautiful ship with lots of bars. The staff and crew are very friendly and helpful. Our stateroom had two stewards that were great. Food was very good although in the Ledo Cafe it never changed from day to day. The same meals were served every day. The dinning room we found to be very slow with a lot of wait time between courses. All together it was a nice cruise with comfortable staterooms.

Celebrity Equinox

April 2018 - 11 Night Jazz Fest & Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Equinox

Good Cruise but got a little sick.

We had a good cruise and met a lot of friends. Only problems that we encountered were we both picked up a virus while on ship and after being sick three days on ship we're still trying to get over it after a week at home. Overall the Equinox is a good ship although way to many people for my comfort. The ship is not fancy with golden or glass staircases as some others we have been on. We did not care for the Dinning menus as they were really few choices and combinations that were not appealing to us. The one thing we did not like was the constant selling of Specialty Dinning.

February 2018 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This cruise was really different.

Our first NCL cruise and it was some new stops that we had not been. Over all a good cruise but way to much walking to get to shore. The ship was beautiful and a nice cabin. Our room stewart was good. We prefer traditional dinning so we eat most of our meals in the buffet because the dinning rooms were much smaller and very loud. Overall the ship held way to many people for us.

Cruise tips

Island Princess

Island Princess

Princess is becoming more like Carnival each day. No attention to high end cruises any longer.

Enchanted Princess

Enchanted Princess

Don't expect the typical Princess care.

Emerald Princess

Emerald Princess

Please wear your mask, especially on elevators.

Crown Princess

Crown Princess

Do it.

Nassau, Bahamas

I love this port but we took an excursion to site see the island and the excursion was not good.

Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Equinox

Equinox should be excellent after it's dry dock.

Norwegian Epic

Norwegian Epic

Go elsewhere.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We have been to Cayman several times but our first excursion. Love the island but not using the tenders. We did the tour where we went to the turtle farm and hell. Good your and interesting history of the area.

Cozumel, Mexico

Have been to Cozumel many times and it gets more commercial every year.

Norwegian Getaway

Norwegian Getaway

Prepare to walk alot. Whenever they dock we exited the ship from the end furtherest from the port.

Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Equinox

Don't expect the grand foyer as some cruiselines offer. Equinox is nice but not as elegent.

Key West, Florida

Just as we expected. Old homes and lots of history. Did the Hop-on-Hop-off tour and took hundreds of pictures.
