Review summary
For those that wonder what happens on a ship when covid strikes, here is a summary. Aboard Emerald Princess for 14-day cruise to the Caribbean. Seven days into the cruise, I caught covid. When I felt the symptoms, was tested by Medical and was positive. I was told to pack everything that was mine and twenty minutes later was taken to a floor 2 decks above and placed in a normal room matching my purchased cabin for 5 days of isolation. My wife was left in her room (in quarantine) and could go anywhere, but had to eat all meals in her room. Next day she tested positive and joined me. Four days past and we were retested and still positive. We were not allowed to leave our cabin but could order anything we wanted and it was delivered to our room, placed on a table outside the door. The deliverer would knock and step away from the door. Trash was placed on the table and picked up during the day. Since CDC states that 10 days must pass before flying we were put in a contracted hotel (price based on your cabin type) till the time passes to fly. All meals are brought to your room where you continued isolation.Embarkation

Medical Center
The medical center staff was very knowledgeable about diseases. The only problem was that we were kept in the dark about what would happen next. We understood the ship officers were having a regular meeting to decide what to do.
