Cruise tips
Port ok. No excursions entire trip. Have done lots in past. Tired of seeing churches and "amazing" rock formations. Mexico is not of great interest to me.

Enjoy yourself, many people never have that opportunity. Fabulous ship!
Just went straight to airport. Long time to disembark, take $25 NCL bus to airport in FLL. Give yourself plenty of time before flight.
Just take a $5. shuttle ride (each way) to EAGLE BEACH. Powder white sand, warm water, one of the best beaches in the world. Better than Waikiki. Small bar/restaurant/toilet there.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California
no excursion

Very large number of sales tents. Not much here air conditioned. Wifi at a couple of places for small purchase like a soft drink. Venders were abundant and very nice. You can easily spend a couple of hours or more there.
Great Indian restaurant about 15 minute walk to left of port. 2nd floor, and across street. You will be offered marijuana many times while walking. Dozens of tour hawkers, somewhat annoying. Safe, but be on your guard a little more. Hawkers may offer a short walking tour for you, then demand $50 after. Tell them you are not interested until they go away. Someone might ask you to visit their stall for a $1.00 shirt, then ask $20. No, that was a dollar off.
Missed port due to late departure of ship
Fabulous beach and resorts about a half hour walk to left of port.
Very low priced clothing in city next to port. Fantastic beach a few minutes walk from ship.
Ghost stories, slave stories, plantations, casinos (big Harrah's), French Quarter, Bourbon street with very loud rock bands (not much Jazz on that street), 3 Larry Flint Hustler venues, voodoo stores, voodoo museum, city bus tour, nice architecture, heritage buildings. Unusual people in French Quarter. Very polite people for the most part.
Norwegian Breakaway
This is a good size ship. Low on swimming pools. Low on quiet areas to read. Good size casino.
Enjoyed a bus tour all the way to Panama City.
Reminded me of the Big Island of Hawaii. Went to the Rainforest and Canal Cruise. Expensive but worth it.
Best excursion here is swim with the Stingrays.
Got tired of No Man and Yah Man. Went to beach with promise of colorful costumed dancers and live band. No dancers, no live band, but there was a guy with 2 big speakers and plenty of included drinks and food.
The Old town was great to visit.
Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)
Amazing to learn about the construction, the difficulties, the lives lost, the function of the old and new canals and the huge economic benefit to Panama. Our ship paid $550,000 for a partial locks cruise.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
I did the Millionaire's Row paddle boat cruise. Amazing homes (up to about 45 million) and yachts (up to 200 million).
Caribbean Princess
Bring less clothing than you need. There are self serve laundry machines throughout the ship.
