We had a great trip on the Zuiderdam to Panama Canal. The various ports were very interesting, and Holland America does a wonderful job ensuring that customers have a pleasant experience.

Loved this ship! The staff was excellent, our room was comfortable and the food was fantastic! Our room steward and dining room staff took excellent care of us.

All good except the cancellation of our stop in Costa Rica which was one of the primary reasons for taking this cruise.

Old ship. Was very disappointed that the hot tubs were hot and there was no swimming Dinners were poor.

This is our 2nd time with HAL and will definitely cruise with them again.

The cruise was a nice getaway for the New Year. While the weather was not the sunniest, we were lucky most days to miss the rain. Panama and Costa Rica were huge disappointments - areas we visited were dirty and uninteresting. Columbia and Curacao on the other hand were charming. Fun times!

Service was ok; personnel were friendly enough. Still provides religious services on board, but the library is gone. Probably no cruising again with HAL.

In general, I enjoyed my trip. I only need to come to Fort Lauderdale once, and visited three places on my bucket list: Bahamas, South Caribbean islands and the Panama Canal. I think their Itinerary is the best in the Caribbean area, the food and entertainment is getting better and better, it suits the adult guests who want to relax and rewind, doesn't want to see drunk people partying. The only thing I would suggest to Holland America line is to build/ increase solo traveler cabins. People like me, well educated middle age professionals, we can afford to travel, and we know how to enjoy life. This is a big market and some cruise lines have wonderful programs for us with NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT. Some staffs of HAL don't understand solo travelers are not odd, we are just independent and we know how to enjoy life by our own.

I cruised with Zuiderdam twice in 2 months. The 1st time I was not very pleased. I wrote a review: TV was too old, the portion of food in dinning room was too small, and their entertainment sucks. I had to download two movies in every port so I can kill the night time. I just came back from Bahamas, Caribbean south islands and Panama Canal trip with Zuiderdam, and I have to say: things change so much, and I am impressed for their improvement. During the dry dock few weeks ago, the carpet at main area was changed. The whole library in observations deck was changed and blended in with tour information, all new books and many table, sofa for your relaxation and Reading. The Lido market has the same men's like Dinning room and even more choices!!! The entertainment is the biggest chance. Now there are different area for different style of show: classical, blues/ Jazz, and one billboard song area, plus the main stage...

Panama Canal was interesting but Costa Rica was the best! We especially loved the zip line through the rainforest canopy, even in the rain. We want to go back someday, in the sun.

Very disappointed in HA this time. Had I know when I booked I would not have taken a cruise on a ship fresh out of dry dock. I talked a lot of other passengers that felt the same way.

The stewards were nice . The hot tubs were not hot and the pools were not handicapped accessible. Eating in the dining room for dinner took over a hour to eat . The rockiness was terrible at night . I prefer the bigger ships.

We have sailed on the Holland America cruise line before and think highly of them. This was a very unfortunate experience as the Zuiderdam certainly was not ready to cruise. We were concerned with the health issues and the next passengers boarding the ship that are unaware of things. On behalf of Holland America, they did give passengers a $75 on-board credit for the pool not being in service and they did give us a $400 on-board credit. This would have been received anyhow if the cruise would have been booked through Holland America. I am not sure if the ship was fully booked, but do feel that they certainly could have reassigned us in a different cabin, if available,no matter if an upgrade/different category. The situation became somewhat comical, plus sad, and what we have left are a story to tell and illness that we are still getting over.

It was good to get away to the cooler weather, coming from Florida. Would have liked to go on some of the excursions, but due to some unexpected health problems, couldn't make it.

Just came back from it. The service is great. The crew is either Dutch or Indunesian, they are so nice. The food is good and I really enjoy it. The atmosphere is great, sophisticated and quiet. The cabin is well designed with thoughtful details. The Art work is unique and classic. The only thing I wasn't very happy with is their entertainment. It is more for age of 60-70. I have to download two movies to my ipad every time we docked. so I can kill my time in evening. In general, I enjoyed my trip, got lots of rest. It was lovely.

We had a very enjoyable experience. The crew was very hard working, available and did a great job. Activities were fun and shows were overall great! The portswere good overall but didn't especially enjoy Sydney. The food was delicious!! Coffee needs an update but the rest of everything is wonderful and very well done!!

This was one of our nicest cruises. We spent 3 days in NY city before the cruise. I had never been to NY before and there were so many sights to see we had a very hard time deciding where to go and which shows to see. We stayed in Manhattan so we could walk most places or take the subway where we needed to go. We have been on a couple of ships that have 400+ passengers but I think we like the smaller ships better. The Zuiderdan is great and perfectly suited for and trip into the North East. Don’t think we will do another Duck Boat trip after reading about the one that sank. The people at every stop were so welcoming. We heard great tales and fine music. We also stayed and extra day in Quebec at the end of the trip. We needed more time here but life at home was calling.

great cruise. Love the Holland app to plan daily events. Cruise lines need to add email capability among passengers. We always travel with friends and it can be hard to find everyone

The most fascinating part was the scenic cruising in Prince Christian Sound. We stayed on the bow virtually all day with an excellent commentary from the bridge in gorgeous weather. We particularly enjoyed the residents of the only village on the sound coming out on motor boats with their standing kids and circling the ship. The ship stopped at all 5 glaciers to allow plenty of time for photos. We've cruise Alaska twice but this experience was better. The 2 Greenland ports were not that great and the major experience were 9 somewhat elderly Inuits singing bible hymns in the culture center for $15. We also enjoyed Saint Johns Newfoundland. We had been to the other one in NB 3 times. HAL mistakenly put that in their brochure and subsequently corrected it. We enjoyed the $5 hop on hop off city bus which took us to the top of Signal Hill for a gorgeous vies.

We don't stress too much about the condition of the ship, The ports of call are our main reason to be on the cruise in the first place. We did a back to back on this ship with ports of call Copenhagen, Denmark, Bergen, Norway, Akureyri, Ísafjörður, & Reykavik, Iceland, Prince Christian Sound, Qaqortoq, Nanortalik, Greenland, St, John's, Newfoundland, & Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and of course NYC, New York, USA.
