Review summary

I cruised with Zuiderdam twice in 2 months. The 1st time I was not very pleased. I wrote a review: TV was too old, the portion of food in dinning room was too small, and their entertainment sucks. I had to download two movies in every port so I can kill the night time. I just came back from Bahamas, Caribbean south islands and Panama Canal trip with Zuiderdam, and I have to say: things change so much, and I am impressed for their improvement. During the dry dock few weeks ago, the carpet at main area was changed. The whole library in observations deck was changed and blended in with tour information, all new books and many table, sofa for your relaxation and Reading. The Lido market has the same men's like Dinning room and even more choices!!! The entertainment is the biggest chance. Now there are different area for different style of show: classical, blues/ Jazz, and one billboard song area, plus the main stage...

I think the brilliance of the sea will have 2600 people on board. But I just checked this afternoon, in Jun14,15, there are 3 ships dock at st.peterburg! Will have more than 6ooo people for sure. Now I have to research again, this time works backwards: check which day has least cruise ship at the port, then look for a good deal

Actually our friends did the Baltic on RC Navigator of the Seas. It’s about 3000 Guests, still bigger than HAL ships, but Jessmin had mentioned the single price on HAL was high for the Baltic & asked for other ideas.... To Lakehouse2, sorry you did not enjoy the big RC 6000 person ship...haven’t tried it, but sounds overwhelming.

Royal Caribbean ships are too large. We have been on Oasis of the Sea... every public place was crammed with passengers. 6000 is more like a town than comfortable cruise... they had a lot of amenities, but super long lines to accompany each attraction... thank you...no thank you to Royal Caribbean... I might add my husband I have sailed with Holland over 150 Days..

Forgot the sandals? Sounds like a good reason to go shopping! As for Baltic, had some friends who loved it in June a year ago, they chose Royal Caribbean... haven’t been personally to say one way or other... good luck!

It was one of those " let's do it" moments. 4 days before cruising days. I did forget to bring sandals, so I wear my flipflop to dinning room for high tea

I like being able to view the dinner menu! That’s a nice touch! I hope I can do that on the Koningsdam in Feb! 🍸

Oh, I forgot to mention that now we all have flat TV, with new movies and TV programs, as well as live TV newa channel... we can view dinner menu too.
