Nice Ports; Fair Price; Horrible Entertainment, Dining and Casino Staff
Zuiderdam Cruise Review to Europe - Mediterranean
Review summary
The ports of call were great! Cost of the cruise was fair, however, the entertainment was lacking -- seems like the "actors" were more interested in their performance then singing the actual songs; Casino staff very un-attentative. Host on the third deck dining room (a heavy-set gentlemen) was quite rude night-after-night. Stateroom and front desk staff were just wonderful and every request (small or large) was met with a friendly sincere smile. Art auctions were a joke. Bingo from Kevin was more about humiliation then allowing guests the "pleasure" of winning. Who in their right mind encourages guests to "boo" other guests? Kevin does!

Ship tip
If you are departing around 4pm get to the cruise terminal early -- we arrived just after 12 noon and were allowed on and suspect other guests were there earlier. Ask the front desk for a later departure and most likely it will be granted.

Dissing Kevin for the "booing" at the Bingo is unwarranted as this "shtick" is part of the Jackpot Bingo on every Holland America ship while at sea. It is not meant to be derogatory. We certainly didn't mind being booed when we stood up with only one number left. On several occasions we were lucky enough to win but, more often than not, we were left standing with many others needing only one number. Lighten up and join in the fun!!!
