Lovely ship. There is a fair amount of rocking - even on smooth water. We felt a little sick the first night but was able to quickly feel better and not need anything to help the queasy go away.

This ship is best for adults as there is not much for children to do outside of the Kid's program: Adventure Ocean. Royal Caribbean should consider adding another ship to accommodate 5 day itineraries for families with children considering nearly 1.5 million cruisers come through Galveston per year. Overall, the Cruise Industry should consider mandating children 12 to 17 either are in a supervised program on-board or with their adult-aged guardian. No one would consider allowing their children to run around freely and unsupervised in a school setting of just 800 people and 100 adults, this would be crazy. Why would parents allow their under-aged children to walk around freely in a floating resort of over 2,700 strangers? I suspect nothing will change until several children fall victim to a tragic incident before policies change. This ship should also invest in more nightly entertainment such as more comedy shows for families and adults. More shows that do not involve the passenger guests performing or perhaps a magic show.

Come prepared to have fun! There are so many activities to choose from. You can exercise, relax, enjoy the wonderfully prepared food at the buffet or any of the many dining areas, attend one of the events, enjoy an evening being entertained at one of the many bars, or sign up to be pampered a little in the spa.

this is a large ship compared with Vikings Ocean ships, but this ship rocked and shake a lot, even when the sea wasn't to bad. You can feel the shaking of the engine all the way to the 6th deck, and the humming it on the 3rd deck cabins. the ship is old and I think it needs some engine fixing and some modern technology to prevent from rocking so much.

We WERE ABLE to carry on board two larger sized unopened bottles of water (for our meds) Important, as we bought a small bottle on water on board, and it tasted "soapy", flat.

It's a surprisingly small ship, so be prepared for that if you're used to the mega ships. Given that, it definitely did not feel crowded.

Remember that it's older and smaller, but you can still have fun. It's also a GREAT place to relax and read a book or take a nap, either indoors or out on the pool decks.

We had the perfect cabin (4570). This was on the 4th floor and it was high up enough not to be disturbed by chains rattling when we docked in the mornings. This cabin was in the center of the ship and it seemed more stable than at either end of the ship. We had rough seas going down to Mexico and in the Windjammer (front of the ship) and also the Scooner bar at the rear of the ship was rocking a lot more than our room. Our room was about 4 cabins down from the Centrum bar and lounge. There was always something going on in this area. We loved being so close to the action. We brought the allotted 2 bottles of wine on board and this made it handy to refill our glasses as we enjoyed the various entertainment.

Take lots of sea sick medicine whether or not you think you'll need it. We hit some unexpected rough seas - typical of sailing this route in January we were told - and at least half of the people on the ship were affected by seasickness. We were told that that was because it was an older, smaller ship that didn't have the equipment needed to prevent the pitching and rolling that we experienced. Luckily, neither my husband nor I had any problems but many were very severely affected.
