Review summary

Overall, this was a GREAT price point for such a long cruise. We bought the unlimited photo package and have MANY wonderful photos to remind us of this trip. I would cruise with RCL again in the future.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was good and staff was excellent. I enjoyed the dinner offerings each night. Did not try specialty restaurants - just not interested in paying the upcharge! Breakfast and lunch buffets were well stocked with something for everyone.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This is an older, smaller ship, so you have to take that in mind. The weather was also not favorable to outdoor activities and there were a couple of days when the upper deck had to be closed due to high winds. Not the fault of the cruiseline, but it would have been nice to have a better variety of indoor activities that didn't revolve around high-pressure sales pitches.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Live music was good and plentiful. Shows were very well done.

Children's Programs

My kids are high-school and above. We didn't use this service.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent and we couldn't have asked for more from them.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship is well maintained and looks pretty good for its age.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was roomy and had a wall to separate the two sleeping compartments. There were not enough places to plug anything in, so we had to work at keeping phones charged. Also hard to get ready for the fancy dinners due to limited locations with plugs AND adequate lighting for hair and makeup.

Ship tip

Remember that it's older and smaller, but you can still have fun. It's also a GREAT place to relax and read a book or take a nap, either indoors or out on the pool decks.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

This was our embarkation / disembarkation point. We live in the area and didn't need to visit as part of our cruise.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This was by far our favorite port. We did a snorkeling and island tour excursion and LOVED it! We would return to Honduras again.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
We toured the ruins and it was a decent tour for the price.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the ecopark and my kids loved the Manatee close-up visit. The park was good, but EVERYTHING was an added expense. The photos were a particularly large beat-down on price.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
This process was very inefficient with people dragging large luggage up and down stairs! Better instructions and management would have been VERY helpful.
