Review summary

If Royal Caribbean is rated so good why was cruise and Food so bad!!! Stay Away from Vision of The Seas unless you really don’t like your money and how you spend your vacation.

Smooth easy swift and done. Checked in and on ship within 30min.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

All buffet food was mediocre to average at best. Selections were limited. Never any fresh fish unless breaded and over cooked. Windjammer was the main buffet and all but one couple was displeased. Arquarius Diningroom Dinner was average and at least edible. Park Cafe left us disgusted. Pizza, sandwiches and what ever they had there was subpar. I even bit into a rancid sandwich. Only and I do mean only really good food was the Chops Grille premium $30 each. Soon as we got home today, we came out to dinner. WE WANTED GOOD FOOD !!

Onboard Activities

Weather was cold to cool and limited the pool/outdoors activity. Solarium was gorgeous area and well designed. Chlorine smells were high. Lots of good entertainment in the Masquerade Theater.! Average entertainment elsewhere. Did not participate in outside deck venue due to weather. Egg drop and Centrum Music were fun. Dancers not bad (Carnival Better) Wrong male Lead singer. Go away Cory, Matthew much better. Cruise Director Steve great manager Talita seems to be faking it. Need to improve skill sets a lot.

Casino Royale

Table Minimums were better than another cruise line. We were willing to play and lose. Small casino but nice. Staff here was bit better than rest of their crew. Don’t play on other line at all. Their loss.

Entertainment

Heath Harmison was good if not great during the welcoming show. His follow up Adult show sucked. Tim Allen and George Carlin can do better in their sleep. The adult shows were tame and lacked crew ability to make it really fun. Get Rid of Talita!! She need to be groomed as she lacks great character for the he job.

Library

They call it a book Nook and for good reason. Only a few shelves and much literature was in another language. NOT ENGLISH SAILING FROM AN ENGLISH PORT!!

Service and Staff

Staff left a lot to be desired. They never introduced themselves nor did they do a good job. Incomplete room cleaning by stewards.. Hotel Manager said they were new. Dining staff apparently new as well or just returning from vacation as they sucked. 45 min to get a drink and 2 hours minimum for meal service. They tried to do Dinner shows seemed something disorganized and unrehearsed. Very little truly friendly staff. Almost never acknowledged us let alone say good morning or how are you doing? Again stay away!!!!!!! We have 9 cruises to Nader our belts and this left a lot to be desired. Do not waste your money on Vision of The Seas Royal Caribbean!!!

Ship Quality

For refurbished ship they should have done better. The Royal Diamond Club members thought this place sucked!!! Martha, Terry, Jerry and Pepper. They asked us to give Royal another chance. They never had it as bad as this pathetic ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin comfortable but smallest we have ever had for the amount of money spent!!!! Carnival so much better.

Glad we got off quickly. Couldn’t get to a restaurant fast enough to have really good food. Hunger was high for edible quality food!!!

Sorry you didn’t enjoy. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my past 2 RC cruises, looking forward to my upcoming 3rd cruise. Never experienced any of this, EXCEPT Chops- does cost xtra but food is soo good. Happy Carnival works for you!

We love cruising and still enjoyed this trip and said as much. It still wasn’t worth it. Several Management staff even apologized as they too knew the reasons for several of the poor quality issues we had experienced. They too knew they were messing up.

I am sorry that you had such a poor experience. I also know that some people prefer to dwell on the negatives. Especially on a cruise ship.

Your tastes must not be expecting good quality. My review was based on highly experienced cruisers with Royal and Carnival 9 cruises and up as well as quite a few new cruisers. Average and subpar from non prejudiced individuals was the best they could give. Most Royal people said not to judge The rest of Royal by Vision at it was their worst ever food.
