Slow down, don't try to do everything, .....enjoy your cruise, no way can you do it all, see it all, taste it all, buy it all.........remember this is a vacation, to unwind, explore, talk to someone new as locals and passengers who become friends. If a problem comes up, talk to an "officer", someone who has the authority to get something done.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Because of icing in Galveston, we received a notice from the ship the night before telling us we would get a message about 9 am regarding boarding time. Received message at 9:22, we already were heading to the boat via taxi. The message said to come about 1:30. We were there about 10:15. Went through embarkation right away, no lines, and waited after processing about an hr before boarding.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We only ate our meals at the Wyndjammer Restaurant, which had delicious food, there are other Restaurants including main dining room on board but we do not use them. We like "choosing" our food, and having it hot. Seconds, if wanted. Some of the best food on the several RC ships we have been on was on this ship. More than once commented to the assistant restaurant manager how fresh and delicious their food was. Only wish the person who must be somewhat deaf would not play the music so loud you can not carry on a conversation. Rude, several times it was too loud, to uptempo, eating a meal, not attending a concert.
Onboard Activities

The entertainment good, comics ok,, the musicals with dance team and singers better

Best event of the ship was the raw EGG DROP in the Centrum. Really amazing how many cruisers were able to build parachutes so the eggs did not break. The winner of this event had a propellor style craft that fell softly, by trade he is a mechanical engineer. Was not sure if it would work, but it didi.

Ship tip
We WERE ABLE to carry on board two larger sized unopened bottles of water (for our meds) Important, as we bought a small bottle on water on board, and it tasted "soapy", flat.
Considering it was icy when we got there, and some restaurants closed early, it was friendly. Never have had any problems with local restaurants except one that did not post their prices on a blackboard so you would understand the buffet on weekends is higher than during the week. (never have gone back)
This is an Old Mexican port, no fancy gift shops. Dangerous, small sidewalks, poles, motorcycles and cars may block your path. Street are NOT level, sidewalks are NOT level. WATCH YOUR STEP. Nearly fell in a local park when all of a sudden this was a short step down we overlooked. Some street crossings have raised walkways for pedestrians where the cars MAY stop, some do not. Cars rule.
Great shopping, use ship "shopping guides" as their stores mentioned have to stand by their products, as the Shopper Agent will explain. Be ready for every taxi driver, and every employee of all the shops try to talk you into coming into the shops. Use bags with zippers, pay attention to your 'STUFF' when you sit it down. Lots of people, lots of tourists, be safe, smart.
We always carry our own bags and suitcases, get off quickly most of the time, first in line. But still take too many clothes. If you like to dress up, then by all means check your suitcases. Seldom get notices about a lost suitcase, but have gotten a note in the past.
