GREAT CRUISE! STAFF ABOARD SHIP WAS AMAZIING! LOCAL TOURS THRU VIATOR AND TRIP ADVISOR AND THE THREE INCLUDED ONBOARD WERE GREAT... ESPECIALLY APPRECIATE THE BUS SHUTTLES PROVIDED BY OCEANIA WHERE EXCURSIONS WERE NOT TAKEN...

Enlightening Experience by JenskiMe2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: South America

Oceania is still one of my favourite cruise lines because of the staff, service and food and size of their ships. Their excursions are far too expensive and not always as described. Try to book your own flights as theirs can be inconvenient and they charge a large deviation fee if you want an alternative flight.

Good and Bad Cuba cruise by SJennifer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

Did not have great expectations for Cuba and with all the problems we had with excursions felt if we had a do-over we would have booked none through Oceania and hired a private guide once ashore, or explored on our own.

Very friendly staff. Really the... by brienne

Sail date: /
Ship: Sirena

Very friendly staff. Really the staff was the best part of this ship. Some of the food in the dining room was wonderful, some was inedible. They are not good at catering to special dietary needs (despite what their website, press releases and customer service say). Specialty restraints are great - especially the Red Ginger. Very limited menu for buffet, lunch place by the pool and room service. Limited hours too. Very limited shopping. Ship was a tad too small for me, especially too small of pool (which they drained on one of the days at sea). All entertainment seemed be 9:30pm or later. Making days at sea unbearably boring. Got to one port at 5pm (instead of in the morning). They skipped another port completely. I will not be cruising on this boat - or with this company- ever again.

nightmare in Havana by waltdwyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

Only had one dinner in main dining room after 30 minute wait. Only one port Havana that turned out to be a nightmare finding lodging, transportation, food and flight back to states with my father in law who ship admitted to Cuban hospital while we were on 3 hour tour. Never did anything on ship worth mentioning. Huge disappointment with Oceania.

Best Trip of My Life by duffell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sirena / Destination: South America

Staff and Officers were very friendly. I was worried about being on a small ship for so long, but it was NOT a problem at all. The ship stability was also a non-issue - no more movement than other much larger ships. Do get involved with the Big O games as a means of meeting others, especially on longer cruises. There are NO Broadway style production shows, but what they did have was entertaining and enjoyable given the stage space limitations.

Timeless Cuba by Oldemill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

I've pretty well covered the cruise, the crew, the room, the food, and the entertainment within each separate category. This cruise line excels in the areas of food, comfort, and staff. It is most attentive to dietary restrictions and mobility issues. However, the excursions for those with mobility problems are quite limited.

Relaxing cruise by happyours

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

We went with an Alumni group so it was nice to have something in common with our fellow travelers. We choose this cruise because of the itinerary. “timeless cuba” went to three different cities in Cuba. The ship was very nice but small, holding 690 passengers. We enjoyed that because there was no waiting for elevators, dining was easy, finding deck chairs was okay and embarkation and disembarkation was smooth. We noticed right away that no photographer was waiting as we boarded the ship, and on photos the entire time, so nice! Also no loud music at the pool. The travelers were on the more mature side and there were no children. Dining was freestyle and we could eat in two specialty restaurants at no additional charge. The food was good, we ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet which was well stocked with different food. Entertainment was low key and we enjoyed the singers, dancers and comedians. There was music in the lounges and dancing in the Horizons lounge at the top of the ship. Service was wonderful and the staff was very attentive.

Itinerary and food were the good points only by BillieRae

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

First time on Oceania, very small ship. Entertainment beyond poor, no steel bands by the pool, they had four singers who were good but the band wasn't, an old comedian who was just okay, walked out on everything, nothing exciting in the very very small and limited casino. Other than going to Cuba and the private island the cruise was boring. I must say the food was the best of any line. Unless it was a specific itinerary I would never sail on Oceania again.

Interesting Cultural Experience by infonurse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Cuba

Cuba is a trip that will provide you with a step back in time. There is very little commercial branding noted. The people live very simply and do with very little. Their music is amazing and their resilience is evident. This is a trip that should be done at least once in a lifetime.

Was on the Serena on... by cajungene

Sail date: /
Ship: Sirena

Was on the Serena on the Samba to Seashells (Rio to Maimi) in Jan-Feb 2017 The Good - Very good Itinerary. Jungle tour in Belem, Brazil was interesting and informative. - Devils Island was worth a stop and after all who has ever been to Devils Island - Salvador, Brazil; Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua are good stops - Dottie-Good Cruise Director who herds cats with the best of them - Good port and specialty lectures (On this cruise the specialty was astronomy) - Service and Variety in the Terrace Cafe was great. Much prompter than the Main Dining Room - The Barista Aldo was great - Many of the tours start later in the morning so you don’t have to rise at 6AM for an 8AM tour. - For smokers there is a part of the pool deck were they can indulge - Good bar tenders - Good cabin steward - Ship is older, but well maintained - Any of the wine/food tasting tours are fun and a great way to meet the locals The not so good - Red Ginger Asian Restaurant was disappointing. When you try to do fusion of Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese you will get more hits than misses. - Tuscan Grill had great steaks, but sloooooow Service. - Main Dining Room Waiters need better training. We orders Escargot and when we ask for an escargot/seafood fork the waiter thought we were from mars. Attention to detail is not a strong suit. - If you eat Dinner anywhere except for the Terrace Cafe eat early (6:30) Service is so slow that you will miss any activity that starts before 8:45. Most shows start at 9. - Ditch the stop at Fortelaza, Brazil, and the little train tour in St. Lucia. - Internet is spotty and goes down more than you would expect. Overall good cruise, wish Oceania would go all inclusive, but they are not and I that Business Model works for them. Would cruise with them again.

If it was not for getting the flu and being quarantined to my room the cruise was awesome. Great new friends made great bed, expensive drinks and souvenirs.

Sirena by robp67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The service aboard Sirena was not up to the standards that I have experienced on other Oceania cruises.  Next time I'll cruise on the Riviera or Marina.

We boarded in Sydney easy... by wineklein

Sail date: /
Ship: Sirena

We boarded in Sydney easy process. We were lead to a crowded lunch area. You can go to pool area that serves burgers. Also it is a good time to purchase laundry coins. The laundry is on deck 7 with 6 washing machines and dryers. Soap is complimentary. Cabins are small so we showered mostly in the locker rooms. Also, we stored life vests under the bed along with our suit cases.
