Had a great time! by JudyC5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Even though an older ship and small cabin it was comfortable and clean. Loved our balcony and steward. Entertainers & staging surprisingly good. Good food and service.

Excellent Experience by HelenK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I am very impressed by the service of the staffs in the dining room. Everybody are very friendly and make me feel like home. I want to give special thanks to Jose whose services is excellent. Me and my friends had dinner in the dining room the first day we got on the ship and he asked us for our names. The next day I went to the buffet for breakfast and I was surprised that he remember my name and addressed me by my name. Very impressive!

Fun cruise by KuangL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Thisis my first cruise vacation on the Sea Princes. I enjoyed it very much. The services, foods and the amenities on the ship are excellent. The waiters in the restaurants are all very professional and courteous, especially Wilson (the head waiter) and Dean (the assistant waiter) at the Restaurant Rigiletto. Entertainment programs are nicely planned and are very enjoyable.

Cruise from Hell by SimoneL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This site continues to kick me off!!! We will not be sailing with Princess cruise lines again. We will cancel our 2012 cruise. The overall experience was not a quality experience. If this would have been my first cruise, I would not cruise again. The dining experience was such poor quality, we avoided the dining room whenever possible. The quality of food was less than Denny's. The only location to get any kind of quality was in the Steak House where the staff at least had some training in serving passengers. The Steak House was good....but on other ships would be the norm.......and without extra charges. We dined there 3 times and took leftovers to our room for the following day. The room service menu was very limited......and VERY BAD!!! The first night, the mattress was old and flat. We slept little and were very stiff and sore in the morning. The steward wrapped the mattress in an egg crate. This helped. We were told we would get a new mattress......this did not happen. We felt nickel and dimed continuously. The main discussion as we met other passengers was about the bad ship and service and no comparision with other cruise lines. We requested towels and rarely received any additional except the minimum 1 per person. The little special added services on other ships in the cabin was non-existent...no folded bird towels.....or any added service. The Internet was less than acceptable. I brought my laptop so that I could do some work and was continually bumped off and bandwidth was extremely low making the downloading slow and requiring more money to be spent to use the service. I am in the business and know that this was not appropriate and another way to make money for the ship at the expensive costs to use the service. Activities were very limited and boring.....along with poor entertainment. The PORTS were enjoyable.....and we were anxious to get off the ship at each and to find good food and enjoy the "expensive" tours. Again....overall......not the experience we expected and will not be cruising with Princess again.

Nice ship but too long for me by RK3

Sail date: /
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship itself was fine, but everything was a sales pitch of one kind. The soda's should be included in price of ticket and I could not believe you charge for the internet use, as this was the only way to stay in touch with family at home. Should stay in ports for longer, but then it is a cruise.

questionable by DorothyM3

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Being an Elite member and having been on the Sea -- it is a beautiful ship but this time disappointed with the food and due to the fact many many passengers had the NoRo Virus -- my husbnd caught it AND we NEVER got off the ship. Plus we were charged $93 for staying on board--WHY I do not undestand the charge ??? Thanks for the upgrade --I would like a response as to the Dr charges though ---

Great cruise, but prepare for extra fees by Jaimieh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship was great. I liked that there were multiple dining options so that we did not have to do traditional dining because that took forever and you had to sit with people you don't know. I was not prepared for all of the extra costs but this was my first cruise so I will be more prepared in the future. It seemed like Princess was trying to make every penny they could possibly make even on things that probably should be included (like drinks).

alaskan adventure by MichelleL10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We just returned from a 10 day Alaskan cruise aboard the Sea Princess. We did have a lovely time overall, and cannot rave enough about the majesty and splendor of the northwest. We will visit there again someday, but not on Princess. The ship is 12 years old now and beginning to show the wear, and in general, underwhelming. This is our fifth cruise, and the very first time that we found ourselves with several hours each day with no good options for activities. There were port shopping talks daily, and on-board jewelery and art auctions were the ship's highlights, unfortunately. Shows were repeated, and the ship did show some great movies, "Under the Stars," which were shown outdoors on a big-screen behind the pool, but as you can imagine, it was just too cold to enjoy them. The food was good, but not outstanding. Same with the service. It wasn't a BAD experience, it just wasn't as exciting and wonderful time on the ship as a cruiser comes to expect. I will end with one positive: the ship cruised Glacier Bay and brought a Park Ranger on board to give commentary. That was a real treat!

Princess is AWFUL! by Vincew1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Customer service on Princess was the worst I have ever experienced from any hospitality company. We were locked out of our cabin for 3 hours on the first day because the lock on the door broke. All of our 8-month-olds supplies (diapers, formula, etc) were in the cabin! After several trips up and down the 6 flights (elevators are always busy the first day), we finally got the second-in-command of reception. He told us we would be given a 15% of our total bill daily credit. When we actually settled up at the end of the cruise, it was only a one-day 15% credit ($43). To top things off, Princess broke one of our suitcases and have made at least 4 hoops we have to jump through to get any compensation. We are still in the process of dealing with their corporate offices. Clearly Princess' mode of operation is do whatever it takes to stall or put the customer off and hope the customer finally decides it isn't worth it. I WILL NEVER SAIL ON PRINCESS AGAIN, AND IF YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU, YOU WON'T EITHER! Pay the extra money and go on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.

PrincessCruise San Francisco to Alaska. by JimB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Cabin was right above bar. Music shook the cabin until 12:30 am every night. The staff was unable to help. I complained every night. The night manager even came to my room to hear this noise only to say how embarrassed he was. We were told that he could move us until 12:00 midnight. What kind of solution was that. The food was awful. This was my eighth cruise and by far the food on this ship, the service on this ship was the worst. If this is the way of the crusie then they are certainly not the wa they were a few years ago!
