Review summary
We just returned from a 10 day Alaskan cruise aboard the Sea Princess. We did have a lovely time overall, and cannot rave enough about the majesty and splendor of the northwest. We will visit there again someday, but not on Princess. The ship is 12 years old now and beginning to show the wear, and in general, underwhelming. This is our fifth cruise, and the very first time that we found ourselves with several hours each day with no good options for activities. There were port shopping talks daily, and on-board jewelery and art auctions were the ship's highlights, unfortunately. Shows were repeated, and the ship did show some great movies, "Under the Stars," which were shown outdoors on a big-screen behind the pool, but as you can imagine, it was just too cold to enjoy them. The food was good, but not outstanding. Same with the service. It wasn't a BAD experience, it just wasn't as exciting and wonderful time on the ship as a cruiser comes to expect. I will end with one positive: the ship cruised Glacier Bay and brought a Park Ranger on board to give commentary. That was a real treat!Ship experiences
