Alaska on September by cfmateus

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

We enjoyed the ship and itinerary very much. Early September is still a very good time to visit Alaska. We didn't get much rain, besides forecasts of 90% chance, and shore excursions were done under some overcast/scattered clouds. First and last days were very sunny (California Coast...) and pool was perfect.

Very enjoyable experience by DrTomLee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

Overall, it was a nice cruise. In light of the ongoing pandemic with cases rising again, it would be wise to have the crews wearing a mask, especially the servers.

Great time in the Great North by MitchP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Ruby Princess

This cruise was great for us and the children. The only real bad thing on this cruise was dealing with the water shuttles in the port of Sitka. Unless you have a real reason to get off the ship there, don't. The other ports are definitely worth seeing and there is something for everyone. Get the young kids medallions because then you can track where the kids are on the ship if they get lost, or if you are just wondering where they are. Same goes for adults, and I was able to find my wife and mother in law a few times just by tracking their medallion location. If you have young kids, do the kids club. They give you a pager for the younger kids just in case they need to get a hold of you. As mentioned before, the service was the best I've seen on any cruise I've been on, and I've been on 7 of them.

Unique cruise with plenty of memories by Hubs63

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess

As alluded to earlier, we encountered an issue with the itinerary since the Ruby Princess had slammed into the pier when it arrived and caused enough damage to the boat to delay our departure by 3 days. It cut our actual cruising time down from 10 days to 7 days resulting in missing Sitka, Glacier Bay, and Juneau. Princess did a great job of keeping us updated and compensating us for the delay. We felt completely safe and the actual cruise was the smoothest cruise experience we have enjoyed of our 9 cruises.

Wonderful first (but not last) cruise to Alaska! by JimRing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ruby Princess

Wonderful cruise for our family group of 10. I've always wondered why people return on an Alaskan trip and now I know why. Feels like we just touched on the many things to do in Alaskan ports. Take your patience, your camera, your binoculars, your appetite and dress in layers!

Worst cruise in 30 years. No health restrictions enforced, dirty silverware and we both got the virus that was onboard prior to our departure and Princess said nothing. Ports were terrible unless you enjoy Safeway and wallmart in Sidka Alaska by jschweitzer66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

This is the worst Princss Cruise I’ve ever been on. The room was never clean and had a sewer smell. Every porch that we visited except one we had to wait hours to catch a tender off the ship. Longest way for tenders ever up to three hours.

Fabulous family cruise! by OceanExplorer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ruby Princess

Overall, it was a fantastic cruise. Nothing is perfect, and there were some minor hiccups throughout the trip, but nothing that impacted our vacation. The one area I wish Princess would improve is the ventilation in the casino area. Nevertheless, Alaska is a beautiful place to visit.

Memorable Alaska Cruise by Anothai

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess

Such fun and relaxing experience. Staffs were friendly and helpful, special thanks to Chai,Sarvesh, Phongthep from restaurants. I LOVE the zumba instructors and entertainers, to name a few , Mark, Rafael and Trivia. I’d been overeaten but did not gain a pound. Thanks to big fitness room and many easy to access walking areas that provided on the upper and lower decks.

Used to like and sail with Princess often , but was disappointed this time with Ruby. Staff are nice but look like lack of experiences. Food are quite salty. Buffet has a lot of food varieties. Nice and clean. Cakes and French bread are very pretty and good

Disappointing Cruise Ship by lovinitsunny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess

Virus filled cruise ship. Flu was rampant and managers not enforcing safety guidelines with passengers. Food did not meet my expectations. Catered to Chinese cuisine. Casino bar staff not receptive due to slow or no service. Cabin stewards were excellent in providing service and keeping rooms clean. Guest Services staff resolved problems but in a long time. Medallions we’re problematic as they are sensitive and sometimes got charged for drinks and food I didn’t order. Recommend to check your statement everyday for billing errors and not wait until the day before disembarkation. I was deeply disappointed with this Princess ship.

Unsafe food for allergies, pregnancy and other dietary requirements - adding tags for allergic / pregnant / vegan by Allergictodairy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

I was repeatedly given food I'm allergic too and food that's unsafe for me as I'm pregnant. I was humiliated by staff openly discussing it on the restaurant floor, having to eat late and by myself every day and I still ended up ill. I was made promises which were never followed through and it ruined my entire holiday. The ship is dated and has a real lack of areas to go during the day. Restaurants have huge queues and booking ahead makes no difference to this. Food is slow. Staff appear way over stretched and inadequately trained. You couldn't pay me to take another Princess Cruise.

Princess has gone downhill by LondieC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Ruby Princess

Totally downhill from previous Princess Alaska cruise experience. Majority of scheduled activities are simply commercials for the overpriced goods and services they sell onboard. Stopping at Victoria was previous highlight & that didn't happen this time. Craft activities were unorganized and juvenile. Most craft presenters were unprepared and clearly unskilled. Also, not given enough time to complete craft, as lot of time was spent passing out each individual item needed. Insulting. Only redeeming part of trip was that Staff was excellent, food was good, weather great, had a balcony.
