Review summary

Virus filled cruise ship. Flu was rampant and managers not enforcing safety guidelines with passengers. Food did not meet my expectations. Catered to Chinese cuisine. Casino bar staff not receptive due to slow or no service. Cabin stewards were excellent in providing service and keeping rooms clean. Guest Services staff resolved problems but in a long time. Medallions we’re problematic as they are sensitive and sometimes got charged for drinks and food I didn’t order. Recommend to check your statement everyday for billing errors and not wait until the day before disembarkation. I was deeply disappointed with this Princess ship.

Embarkation

Very disorganized once I checked in. No room to sit down. Passengers came ahead of their time schedule and were processed and allowed to board the ship earlier. Both handicap passengers and Elite class passengers were boarded at the same time. My foot got bruised from a wheelchair.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
I had a standing reservation in the main dining room. Always had to stand in line every night even though we had a set table with the same passengers. No room to stand outside the restaurant. A definite safety issue if there was a medical emergency. Food was mediocre at best. Changed menu items at last minute. Baked potato only on last night and all had burned skin and served cold. Entrees lukewarm and tasteless. Quality is definitely down since the pandemic. Vegetarian meals were basically non existent. My fellow table mate never saw the chef to address the issue. In fact, we never saw a chef only the associate manager of the dining room. Our servers though we’re exceptional and felt bad about the food we received. They tried their utmost to make it acceptable.

Onboard Activities

We pre booked the thermal spa not knowing that it is only available on the larger ships. A huge disappointment.

Service and Staff

Our dinner servers were outstanding. Buffet area manager made aware of passenger not following safety guidelines on covering their mouth when coughing, etc. infected the entire coffee service area. I was told that they would watch him and disinfect the area. Passenger coughed over the watermelon in the buffet area.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Except for buffet area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Wonderful and spacious suite. Plenty of storage room.

Ship tip

Call ahead to find out if the new corporate policy for the dining rooms apply to your specific ship on Princess. It was an awful experience for both passengers and staff.
