First Time Cruiser Enjoyed Trip

Sail Date: May 24, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We are first time cruisers and totally enjoyed our Alaska Inside Passage Cruise on the Ruby Princess.  Our cabin was comfortable, the staff efficient, weather & scenery great and restaurant food terrific!  The buffet food was good, but not great, but it was handy having the option.  We also enjoyed several shows in the Princess Theater and music in the lounges.  If I had one complaint, it would just be that there was a more upselling than we'd like, but we were able to politely decline offers.   Overall, it was a great cruise for us!

Onboard Activities
Generally, the activities were very good. Some were really good and some so-so.
Destinations and Excursions
The views along the inside passage were great and we had fun on the excursions.
Seattle, Washington
Lots to do around the water front and our tour of Boeing was very interesting.
Ketchikan, Alaska
We had great weather, which was not usual for Kethcikan, and enjoyed a tour by one of the local residents. We saw a lot of eagles!
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
Very beautiful views, but surprised that the "floaters" in the passage were so small... probably because it was late May.
Juneau, Alaska
Quick visits to the rainforest, glaciers and a tram ride to the top of the mountain.
Skagway, Alaska
Quaint little town and awesome train ride!
Victoria, British Columbia
Short evening stop so our tour just hit a few highlights.

Tip

Take the time to get dressed for dinner and enjoy the dining room experiences, rather than the buffet, whenever it fits your schedule. We also enjoyed having room service for our morning coffee and tea so we could enjoy the views and relax a bit as we woke up.
