Great Itinerary. Loved the cruise. by wbshort

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We had a wonderful experience cruising around the British Isles. Loved the many port visits. The ship's port guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. A couple of things about the ship itself that were inconvenient: the elevators were unpredictable, there were no working stairs mid-ship. Our stateroom was mid-ship but when we had to go one or two decks up or down, we would have to go all the way to the front or aft to get to a staircase.

But we loved the cruise overall. The staff were all great. We would definitely recommend the cruise to our friends.

Royal Princess Cruise by kjurban70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

Destinations were excellent.  We wanted to go to Belgium and the Netherlands for awhile.  These countries were everything we hoped they would be.  The crew on the ship were very attentive and friendly.  Activities offered were numerous.  On-board lectures were great.  Food was excellent.  The tours offered and taken were fantastic.  We went to Amsterdam and visited the Van Gogh museum and took a canal cruise.  We also visited Brugges (in Belgium) and thoroughly enjoyed our visit there.

Trans-Atlantic repo. by bobe2013

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

Newer ship that has lost the home feeling of Princess. Some of the things that were standard on the older ships is missing. The red / blue carpets, the Explorers lounge and some pools. They have enlarged the atrium and lost valuable other venues.

30th anniversary cruise by almacdonald611

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My wife and I had a great time. The ship was absolutely beautiful. We had a deluxe balcony stateroom that was perfect for us. The anytime dining, turned out to be a great choice. The menu in the restaurants changed daily and the food was great. This cruise was definitely for adults. A little quiet, but that is what we were looking for. I really enjoyed the large screen on the pool deck. They ran ''movies under the stars'' at night and had all types of shows on all day long. We both agree that the staff on this ship was exceptional. They made our experience that much better. We would definitely recommend this cruise.

Not Tops On My List..... by golddust

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I just completed a seven night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Royal Princess. The ship was beautiful, and the staff was attentive, but those are the only positive comments I can make. The food was above average, but definitely not a 10. We have previously cruised with four different cruise lines, and our balcony cabin was the smallest I've had in all my years of cruising, which was disappointing. The casino was extremely small and cramped.... "Ten pounds of stuff in a five pound bag". The entertainment was modest at best. The most disappointing feature, however, was the layout of the ship. We did read reviews prior to booking and several other passengers had the same remark, but we thought "how bad could it be!" Well, they were absolutely correct. We spent way too much time and too many wasted steps backtracking to get to various areas of the ship that were not accessible from one deck to another....up an elevator, down a hall to a flight of stairs, down another elevator, down another flight of stairs....ugghh! Very inconvenient. If I cruise with Princess again, it will not be on The Royal.

Wonderful Cruise, the very Best! by ihooper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my sixth Princess cruise. My twin sister & I met in Fort Lauderdale, she flew in from The Netherlands, and I from California. This cruise was to celebrate our 75th birthday in July.

From the time we embarked on the Royal Princess, we were treated like we were the only passengers on board. The staff could not do enough for us. Mr Jun our stateroom attendant went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. There  were plenty of towels, which magically appeared when required.

The dining room staff and staff on the 16th floor self service were all outstanding. My sister and I both use a cane, so we received VIP care in the cafeteria and dining room.

Great trip. by sandflea68

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Enjoyed all the ports.  Cheaper to buy excursions on shore. Food and entertainment were top notch. Rooms were cleaned twice a day.  All cruise personnel were very courteous.  Cleanliness emphasized as washing basins and hand sanitizer were available at dining rooms and other places on ship.  Many places available to eat meals.

Fantastic Cruise. Princess is Excellent.. by bobwercol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

10th cruise. First on Princess. Would recommend this cruise because it has six ports within tens days. Lots of time to enjoy the ship and plenty of things to see and do. Tubing in Dominica was cool and zip lining in St Thomas was exciting. Ship food and entertainment was very good. Only one small complaint. Royal Princess is a fairly new ship. In our opinion the ship seemed poorly designed (flow) compared to other ships we have been on. I would love to announce the ship was awesome, but for some reason I can't. Otherwise everything else was excellent, the crew, ship activities and port excursions.

10 Days aboard the Royal Princess by hschoonmaker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We enjoyed the time aboard the Royal Princess. All our expectations were met. Many reviews that I read before booking this cruise for me and my wife were very accurate. The only drawback in the whole cruise was the very confusing layout of the ship! Poor planning by the designer/builder and there should be easier to understand directional signage displayed more frequently on all passenger levels. That being said everything else was above average. Princess Cruise lines might want to increase the accuracy of recording any liquor that they take from you in each port and improve on the receipt system in place now as to eliminate any shortages on the night before arriving in Port. We would sail with Princess again , although , not on this Ship. We have Cruised with Royal Caribean, Holland American, Celebrity, Norwegian, and lastly a Terrible cruise on Carnival ( NEVER sail with Carnival)

Princess Cruises are above average in our experience and look forward to another!

Princess in the Carribean by snsmith6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my third cruise and first cruise with Princess. First off, I had some reservations about going on such a large ship (3,500 passengers), but they did a very good job at handling such a large group. It did take away from the Bahama experience a little with the crowds and lining up for the return tender boat. The on board experience was mostly positive, and there was plenty of room to get away from crowds if you wanted. I enjoyed the balcony, and we usually had a great view of each port. They drink prices were not outrageous, and they had 2 happy hour 2 for ones each day. The entertainment was excellent. The food service was excellent too. The food itself was mostly very good, but not 100% of the time. The special raw bar was very good and worth paying extra for. The ports were a wonderful mix of islands. Overall, this cruise is worth the cost and I would like to do an Alaskan cruise with Princess next.

Outstanding Princess Vacation by golfisme

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Excellent and friendly staff, great food, and great entertainment. The string trio was excellent entertainment as were the Atlantic City Boys and the ship show team. The center stairs did not go all the way to the top which caused some congestion at the elevators but not too bad.

Cruise of Feb. 2015 by tmervau

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My wife and I had a great time on the Royal Princess in Feb. of 2015.  We did not go into the first port of call, that being Princess Cay Island, because of rough weather, however enjoyed the other posts and the rest of the cruise.  This is the third time we have cruised on Princess and feel they do above average job in food, intertainment, and accomodations.  Our last cruise, in 2013,  was on the Celebrity Silhouette.  The balcony cabins were larger, we had more "perks" like more credits to spend on board, more credits to spend in ports, and felt even though the food was good on the Princess, the food was slightly better on the Celebrity Silhouette. We did like some of the nightly intertainment on he Princess better than the Celebrity, however both were very good..

Relaxing and low key by MariDen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship was large, not easy to navigate, but never really felt crowded.   Food in the dining room was only ok; food in the Harbour Court on deck 16 was more to our liking; offered great variety.  Dining room and restaurant staff were professional and attentive.  Room was fine although a little small, included a small refrigerator.  Entertainment on board was mostly low key. Fitness center had a good variety of equipment, both cardio and weights but equipment was placed too close together. Bathroom in room was good size although towels were old, needed replacing.  Excursions offered were many and of good variety although pricey.

Royal Princess by Cruiselvr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We loved the cruise.  The Royal Princess is a beautiful ship.  Elegantly decorated.  The service was amazing as usual and the food was excellent.  We got our usual aft facing balcony which was nice and large but you got more soot than normal on this ship than others for some reason. The showers were a few inches larger which made a huge difference but the bathroom it self seemed a little smaller which was ok.  Room was comfy with a small couch and coffee table. Large closet with lots of hangers.   Large screen flat tv on the wall and there was an amazing amount of tv shows, movies and news to keep you happy.  Alot more than other ships.

Only a couple of disappointments:  no stairs in the middle of the ship and no walking area on deck 7.

Great ship but too many passengers by majorgbailey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Spent 10 days on the Royal Princess.  Fourth cruise on the Princess line.  Entertainment, dining experience, buffet, and cabin all very good.  Big problem is the number of passengers on board.  Whenever a major event occurred the hallways were jammed with people.  We were forced to arrive 30-45 minutes to any show to guarantee a seat.  I know there are three showtimes for the production shows but folks were going to only the first two.  I look for a smaller ship next time with less passengers.  Another small but important benefit of the Princess ships is the self-service washing machines and dryers they have on each passenger deck.  That really helps cut down the amount luggage carried on board.

A little disappointed. by juanitalucas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food was very good, the room was adequate, the service was excellent, the entertainment was less than expected.  The passenger services were unsatisfactory and the excursions were very bad.  We were over billed for spa services and we probably will not use Princess in the future.
