Review summary

This cruise covered many stops; one in England, three in Ireland and Scotland plus a day in France.  Beautiful countryside and Orkney Islands was unique all on its own; much like Iceland.   We saw so many sites, and the two days at sea were welcomed  rest from the excursions.  The excursions covered a lot of territory and if you went on an all day excursion, the lunches were all fabulous!!  This cruise was more taxing than the Alaska cruise which is only 7 days long, but we would highly recommend this cruise partly because so much is covered in 12 days.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good; Sabitini's dinner was outstanding!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
OK if you like trivia and dance instruction. Too many bars and the casino always stunk of cigarette smoke.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The ABBA cover group was horrible!! Many people walked out because they had the music up so loud; apparently they thought it was a rock concert. Princess singers and dancers were wonderful!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Didn't have any children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff and service were excellent.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is huge and there are no stairs in the center of the ship. The piatza (sp) doesn't have enough seating for the number of people on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved our room even though we didn't get to sit on the balcony much because of the weather, but what do you expect in the North Atlantic. On our last cruise we had an inside cabin, so this was a pleasure to have a door we could open.

Ship tip

Our balcony room was near the forward elevators, so was very convenient to get to different levels. Also, we used laundry service and they did an excellent job in a timely manner.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

3 out of 5
Took shuttle from Heathrow airport so didn't see much of Southampton.

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

5 out of 5
Easy walking around.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

5 out of 5
Excursion was very rushed and tour guide seemed like a novice. We didn't even get to see all the the country house because she kept having the driver stop at every curve for a photo-op.

Dublin, Ireland

5 out of 5
Beautiful scenery.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

5 out of 5
Fabulous architecture.

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

5 out of 5
Great tour guide; Scottish gentleman.

Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

5 out of 5
Great tour guide; Scottish gentleman.

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

5 out of 5
Great tour guide; Scottish gentleman.

South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland

5 out of 5
Fabulous city; great architecture.

Le Havre (Paris), France

5 out of 5
Tour guide spoke so softly, you couldn't hear her half the time. Givernay was fabulous!!
