Get a balcony for Alaska. We were on starboard side and would probably get port side if we do Alaska again.

If you're choosing a balcony, select your room very carefully. Not all balcony rooms are created equal!!! Awful cigarette smoke wafting up to balconies from deck 5 where they allow smoking. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Bring a power strip, there was only three power outlets in the room. One in the bathroom, and two by the desk.

Don’t let the age and size of this ship discourage you. This was one of my favorite cruises. The food was outstanding, the cabin was perfect, the staff was wonderful.

Book glacier tour or zipline super early, thermal suit is a waste of money, no need to book specialty restaurants.... food in the dining room is excellent. Bring shorts
