Review summary

Good cruise. Enjoyed Alaska. We didn't really like two days at sea--not enough to do on the ship. But, I'd still recommend this cruise.

Embarkation

We upgraded to The Key. It allowed us to board early with a separate line. Well worth the money! I highly recommend buying The Key!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We didn't realize until late in the cruise that we could go to the Main Dining rooms without a reservation. If you go early (i.e. 5:00pm) you can easily be seated without a reservation. Well worth it. Dining at Windjammer is fine but the Main Dining Rooms are much quieter, the service is first class and the food is higher quality.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We played trivia and bingo. If you're going to play bingo, and you have them, bring your own daubers. Save a couple of bucks. The casino allows smoking so we didn't go there as we don't like smoke. It was too chilly to walk on the track on the upper deck but it looked great.

Entertainment

Go see the Starwater show! High quality! Great costumes and dancing.

We did the Royal Caribbean excursion Sea Otters, Raptors and Bears Oh My!. The catamaran tour was great! The catamaran is big, upper and lower deck with open roof and covered roof. We saw humpback whales. I recommend this tour. Bring your binoculars!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
We were disappointed that our port was changed from Skagway (one of the ship terminals was damaged in mud slides in 2022) to Icy Strait Point. We did a halibut fishing tour with Wooshkeetaan Tours that I highly recommend!

Juneau, Alaska

We did the Royal Caribbean excursion Mendenhall Glacier and Salmon Bake. The Salmon Bake was amazing! Beautiful setting with wonderful food!

Victoria, British Columbia

The ship docks a fair distance away from the city center. It's walkable but takes about 30 minutes. We didn't do a tour in Victoria but I wish we had. Even though we'd already been whale watching in Sitka, it would have been nice to do one of the whale watching tours again in Victoria.

Disembarkation

Again, we upgraded to The Key so we disembarked first and our luggage was off first. Well worth it! Easy disembarkation!
