Although the price for the cruise is twice as expensive as it should be, it's the best way to see the islands.

if any of the staff seem sick, wear a mask around them; pretty sure their coughing IT guy is the one who gave me covid.

Don't. Visit the islands by air and hotel. You can do the tours at a cheaper price and get more for your money.

When at the ports, rent a car. The excursions are outrageously priced. You can find better deals when on each island.

Pick another ship. This is the only ship that does Hawaii 7 days so if you are stuck make the best of it. If you can go longer pick another ship. Pride of America is old and worn and very unhappy unfriendly staff.

DON'T . They still have lots of issues with the staff and NCL tries to bill it as a floating Hotel. The price of this cruise was the single most expensive trip that I have every paid for. I EXPECTED OVER THE TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ACCOMODATIONS. I did not get this.

Do not expect great service like you do at other cruises. Also when it says drinks are included…they are not. You still have to pay the taxes on all drinks. Also be very wary of the free special diner. We went to reserve our diner to be told we had two not one special free dinner. We scheduled to two dinners only to find out we would be charged for the second one. We alerted customer service about the mistake and they stated we were only allowed one free dinner….no effort to reimburse.

Realize that it is mostly an American crew so don't be surprised if you ask something of a crew member and their reply is, "I'm sorry but I am on break. Maybe another crew member can help you with that, or if you're not in a hurry, I'll be glad to assist you in fifteen minutes." They're not being rude rather just being honest. Remember, they're an American flagged ship which means American Labor Laws apply.
