The ship is an older model and a bit dated. I understand that it did go through an overhaul a few years back. The stateroom we stayed in is where I could tell by the decor that the ship was a bit dated. This is such a small issue and we plan on sailing the Oosterdam again.

See the cons above. The worst and best part was the entertainment. Such talent given to such tasteless humor was truly unfortunate. As good as he was at Elton John, Had I known that the second show was a carbon copy of the first one I would not have hung around and had I known the content of "Joel Mason and Friends", I would have never gone. Too Bad.

I hated the pushy, obnoxious up-selling going on ALL the time. Soda, beer, jewelry, art, photos, purses, sweatshirts... just about everything you can think of. I think our final bill was the lowest on the ship. Told everyone I met that it was my birthday, and when. Had a cake, candle, song that eve; plus lots of good birthday wishes from everyone i met.

Ship was great. So clean and everyone so eager to help with anything!

This ship was beautiful. It was kept spottlessly clean. I loved the decor.

Hal service is always good, very friendly staff. The table games are open for shorter periods of time. The Lido was extremely crowded during peak hours. We brought cold (formerly hot) food to our room to eat since there was not any space except on the cold, wet back deck. Ketchikan is the best port and there was little time there. If I was booking now, I would pick a cruise w/ more time in Ketchikan.

Ship was clean. Could easily get from forward to aft . Public areas attractive. Floral arrangements were lovely.

Employees not very informed, stateroom not cleaned very well. Late arrivals at two ports. Luggage was mishandled. Overall service was not comperable to past cruises we have taken.

Holland America and the Oosterdam were top notch! We were in a Deluxe Veranda Suite and were treated like royalty from the minute we got to the dock in Seattle until we exited the ship on Sunday. The entire crew was top notch in the execution of their duties and extremely caring and friendly. We had a marvelous experience and would do it again in a heartbeat!

The ship was nice,clean and very easy to get around, but needs to be checked for mechanical issues before departing so your customers will be able to enjoy all ports and not have to cut stay short

The ship is clean and nice. It could use an facelift as it is very old in decor. We loved the crows nest.

I have travelled Holland-America a few times now. This time I was a little disappointed we we chose an inside room (our fault) only to discover it was so small (my husband is 6'2") but mostly it smelled to me of cigarettes. Not that it hadn't been cleaned as it had and the fellows kept it clean - as time went on the smell lifted. I am an outdoor person so the fact that we had 2 days upon returning that we could not go outside I did not appreciate. I understand but didn't care for that. I love the fact that bridge lessons/bridge play - we did it every day when not on excursions - is available. The excursions were also wonderful, most particularly, the guides exceeded our expectations on all islands. I found that some of the food combinations at dinner were strange - exotic - and I cook all kinds of foods. Some pairings just didn't go together. I think the ship, itself, perhaps needs a bit of an uplift. It was nice to be taken care of!!!

The ship is larger then we like or usually sail on but was well equiped to handle the numbers.

This is our second cruise on the Oosterdam , we are so pleased with the quality of service and food that we receive. This is why we chose to go with Hooland America, let alone on the Oosterdam. We have cruised on other lines, but they seem to go the extra step to make sure you are taken care of. The varieties of food that they offer are tremendously delicious, we found ourselves eating even though we weren't hungry.. too much to chose from. We loved all the extra activities that they offer duriing the daytime too, their explore programs, something for everybody.

Ship and staff were excellent. Staff were all courteous and kind and helped in every way. Ship was very clean and beautifully decorated.

The ship Osterdam was very clean, staff was helpful at all times, Food was excellent.
