Don't plan on doing everything in the span of one single week. We reserved shows at about 90 days out. Ended up letting some of the seats go because we opted for other things that were going on.

Be prepared to be impressed with the sheer size of this Ship, how quickly it becomes your home for the week, how quickly you are greeted and made to feel welcome, and I believe the most important point of all, from the Captain to your barman, your waiter to your room attendant, the friendlyness is fantastic.

Try the bistro in Central Park for lunch for gourmet coffees, salads, and roast beef sandwiches. Stay in a Jr Suite and eat dinners in the Coastal Kitchen. Avoid the Windjammer buffet at all cost and instead eat anywhere else.

Watch the Getting About the Ship video to help you navigate the ship. Also, exploring each floor on the first day or two was helpful.

Plan your meal times and locations when making reservations. I would not recommend the MY TIME dining on this ship. It is too large and has too many guests.

I would suggest that anyone about to sail on the Oaskis of the Seas to complete the check in process on line, and print out your baggage tags prior to to boarding the ship. The on line process was very easy to follow.

Buy your excursions off the ship. This ship is so BIG and when you get off to do the excursion the lines are outrageous and you spend of lot of time standing in line or waiting to be transferred. You spend half the day in a line. I have only been on five cruises but I was less impressed with the food on this ship. We bought the package on the ship on the 1st day to that you are able to go to 3 speciality restaurants. Chops steak House and the Mexican restaurant on the boardwalk was the only good food to me. Cheaper to just pay for those and sometimes what they are serving in the speciality restaurant is the same thing they are serving the main dining hall. The ship is beautiful and our room was awesome ! Made some great memories.

Tip the workers! They work very hard and are away from their families everyday. And get to know them as well. They also like to talk about their lives back home and their families.

Check in online and immediately look up the activities you want to attend, then make reservations. If it's done in advance that will take a great deal of stress off of you upon arrival.

Ask when you get on board where to get a wristband. They cost $5, and it can be used in place of your seapass all week onboard. (You still need seapass to get on/off at ports). Wristband will unlock your room and can be used for drinks, etc. instead of carrying the sea pass card. It's also waterproof, so no worries getting in the pools.
