Review summary

Turning 50 sounded dreadful. 14 months before the dreaded day, I booked a cruise. Turning 50 while sailing through the Caribbean sounded less painful. Oh boy was it!!  It turned out to be the trip of a lifetime aboard Royal's Oasis of the Seas. My sister and I shared an ocean front balcony on deck 6. It was convenient to everything. Stops in Nassau, St. Thomas and Saint Maarten were perfect. We came home with Jewelry from Nassau. Wonderful memories of the perfect beach day on a perfect beach on st. Thomas. A humidor full of handrolled cigars from St. Maarten. It was such a grand adventure that we booked another cruise for October.

Room attendant (Anthony aka Spice) took great care of us. Main dining room staff (Jeldon, Nalla & Goran) were attentive to every detail and really made my birthday into an event to be celebrated.

Nicely appointed. Loved the location.

Ship tip

Don't plan on doing everything in the span of one single week. We reserved shows at about 90 days out. Ended up letting some of the seats go because we opted for other things that were going on.

Ports of call

Plan on coming into the area at least a day or two in advance. Plenty of hotels and great beaches to explore and enjoy.

If you've never been, take a taxi tour of the island. Well worth it.

I still have a few good years left myself, lol, but I'm glad you had a great cruise!

Happy Birthday, and 50 was the worst for me personally. After that it's easy because you can't kid yourself that your young anymore. However you can always be immature "😂
