Review summary

Sailing on the OASIS of the SEAS is really an unexplainable experience. As many videos as we watched on youtube, it still did not prepare us for the massiveness of this ship. There were 6025 passengers and 2170 crew and at no time did it ever feel that way. They have the "neighborhoods" and venues all split up on the ship which directs people in all different directions throughout the day to disperse the crowds. We booked another one the last night of the cruise. Royal Carribean is very reputable for royal treatment and on a ship this size they were still able to uphold that reputation in our eyes!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty smooth after we got past the "drop off your luggage" part of it. We were in Star class so we did get to skip the lines. BUT the guy directing the traffic at Terminal 1 in Port Canaveral was not a pleasant one that morning.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We only ate at specialty restaurants. The were superb! We had reservations every night which I believe is a must by the way the restaurants were packed. It would take us about 2 hours to get through dinner with all the courses. But the food was the best food any of my family has ever had in their life!

Johnny Rockets

This place is awesome for the milkshakes and bacon cheese fries. We didn't try anything else. Jatin our server made the best milkshakes everyday for us.

Chop's Grille

Loved this restaurant very much! The food was FANTASTIC! Our waiter Benjamin made sure we had everything we wanted at all times.

150 Central Park

This was my favorite specialty restaurant! The food is AMAZING! As well as the service! Our waiter Jeshan made the dining experience the best!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We only used the hot tubs once. We really didn't use the other onboard activities. Our room was by the rock walls and at no time were the lines extremely long. The putt putt golf course is showing age. But as we walked around there were ALWAYS plenty of lounge chairs everywhere.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We liked the shows. We did not choose to see CATS as it was rated to be a very long show. I think the good thing about the shows is that they are only between 45 min - 1 hour long which is enjoyable. It doesn't make you seem like you wasting any time that could be spent doing other things but yet you get to take in the shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The waiters in the specialty restaurants played a big part in why we enjoyed those dinners so much! They were very personable and professional! Our room steward was awesome! He checked on us every day and night. One day he didn't see us for the first few hours, so he called to check to see if we were ok!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
LOVE love love the layout of the ship! We kept asking ourselves "where are the 6025 people". The ship was constantly being cleaned and sanitized (but we were also onboard after the norovirus outbreak).

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had the 2 bedroom aquatheater suite. It was FANTASTIC! We loved being in the back of the ship. Everyone says its such a long walk.....but really it wasnt that big of a deal for us. I could see if you were elderly or handicapped it would be a problem. But overlooking the ocean from the back and the side and watching the aquatheater from the balcony made it all worht the walk a few times a day.

Ship tip

Tip the workers! They work very hard and are away from their families everyday. And get to know them as well. They also like to talk about their lives back home and their families.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Only used this port for embarkation and disembarkation. The terminal is easy to navigate and park at.

Nassau, Bahamas

Not my favorite port. We did not do an excursion. We made our way to the Starbucks and then back. Very very busy that day. If we went to this port again we would stay on the ship.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

This port is beautiful! There are some shops right in walking distance that we shopped at. The people are friendly and helpful. Did not do any excursions.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

LOVED this port. We did an excursion called "the race" We had to take about a 1 minute boat ride to the docks on main st. It was set up just like the tv show "Amazing Race". My family (me 47, husband 50, daughters 14 & 24) were our own team. We ended up winning after running through the town and streets for 3-1/2 miles. My favorite part was having to interact with the locals during this excursion. They were SO nice and friendly!!!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was chaotic this day because of late arrival due to an unexpected stop in Puerto Rico the day before. But we were Star class and got to walk right to the front of the lines. We were off the ship and in our vehicle within 45 minutes of leaving our room.
