Review summary

The cruise was wonderful. My entire family had a ball which is not easy to achieve with a 12, 10, and 4 year old, plus 2 adults. We enjoyed the food and the entertainment. Royal Caribbean is the best cruise line in our opinion. There is always something to do!

Embarkation

We embarked very easily. There was a line outside but it constantly moved. Once inside and through security we were able to walk right up to the counter and check in because of our priority status. It was smooth, fast, and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Windjammer was good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great variety of food. Never felt crowded because of the mini stations they have set up. We also ate in the dining room for breakfast and dinner. Dinner is always fun and exciting because of the food chooses offered. Breakfast in the dining room was nice as well. Only thing is breakfast was the same everyday and was your typical American breakfast with a few pastries added. I ate at the dog house, which was awesome. Cups and scoops which was really good ice cream. Our dining room was the American icon, we did my time dining for the first time and loved the fact that we could eat around our scheduled shows, nap times lol, and appetites. Food and service was great as well, one of the waiters made my son a animal balloon to keep him busy and ooccupied. What a great help that is for a 4year old he loved it! Sorrentos pizza was definitely a hit with the kids. There is nothing like having access to unlimited pizza.

Onboard Activities

We walked around the track a few times a day. It was really beautiful to see the ocean and I enjoy watching the trail the ship leaves In the water. We didn’t really use the pools on the ship, there was a cold front so weather was not as warm as I would have preferred. My son and I used the hot tub once and he loved it, cried when it was time to get out. My daughter went in the pool once and she enjoyed herself there as well. The shops were ok, they had some good jewelry deals. The kid shop had a lot more girl stuff than boy stuff. Which is normal in most stores unfortunately. I was looking for a hoody for my son and they only had pink glittery hoodies. Nothing for the boys. I did also have a massage at the spa. The massage was nice, but it was too much selling of their products at the end. I didn’t like that part at all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were awesome! We enjoyed the aqua theatre show, we watched it twice and the show was not the same the second time Surprisingly. Cats as a bit slow in my opinion but we are not really Broadway people. The ice skating show was good, so was the Christmas show. The shows with other guests are always good and hilarious such as the marriage show, karaoke was good also.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Kids club was awesome in my opinion. Drop off and pick up where very simple. I had one child in the teen program, she was able to come and go as she pleased. Which she enjoyed. One child in the voyagers, she enjoyed their programs as well and was excited and met new friends every time she went. Lastly my 4 year old was scared initially but the staff was amazing at making him feel comfortable. He was able to meet the trolls and the panda so he was hooked after that.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was great. Everyone is friendly. Everyone says hi as you pass them in the hallways. They greet you and smile in the restaurants. They handle everything that maybe wrong and don’t want you to lift a finger. Our room steward, Jason, was the best. We miss him the most. I felt like he was my friend. Husband and I had daily conversations with him for over an hour lol he was just a joy to be around.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean there was always someone cleaning, mopping, wiping down something. Layout was good to me. Ship is huge and it is impossible to do everything. We are already booked for the next one!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We stayed in a family oceanviee room. Room was big enough to hold 6 people, but there were 5 of us. It was perfect. We didn’t feel cramped even though we were in a room with our children for 7 days. There is definitely a lot of storage. We were all able to unpack our suitcases and store them under the bed with no problems. I did bring a over the door shoe organizer though and that helped as well.

Ship tip

Relax. Enjoy the moment. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Explore!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Port Canaveral was nice. It’s not my favorite port though. In my opinion it was the hardest getting to from the airport. There was a 45 minute ride.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Beautiful island. Sand beach and food included! Locals overcharge though so be careful with souvenir shopping. Also don’t go to adrenaline beach, there are nothing but rocks and boulders in the water! I have scrapes to prove it

Falmouth, Jamaica

We did a tour excursion In Jamaica. Very poor country. We weren’t impressed with the food either and the tour advertised WiFi on the bus which one of the reasons i chose it, but they canceled the WiFi because of the price. Disappointed to say the least. Also one of the roads collapsed causing a major back up on the highway! Thank God we made it back to the ship on time. People were very nice.

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to Mr Sanchos. It was a lot of fun! Unlimited food and drinks. Kids enjoyed themselves there.

Disembarkation

Smooth and easy! We got off the ship at 8 and was at our car by 8:40.
