Review summary

We were happy we were on the last ship that required a negative Covid test. Crew were very good about making sure people washed their hands and sanitized, however we still got Covid. The day we got back into Seattle we didn’t feel great and when we got home tested positive for Covid. It seems unavoidable these days. The crew on the ship were exceptional. The only criticism is the internet and length of time in some of the ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized, pier and cruise staff were all very nice and very helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was wonderful in all dining areas. Incredible assortment of dishes from various countries. The dishes changed every day so you never got tired of the same food. Specialty restaurants were all incredible! Cagneys steakhouse was beyond exceptional!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So many different activities and talks and demonstrations. Never bored, always something to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was exceptional. All the shows in the Stardust lounge were amazing! We were so impressed with the caliber of entertainment. We went to all the lounges, bars, coffee areas, main stage and pool areas. Music was always great.

Children's Programs

Just adults.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service on this ship was incredible! Every single staff member was beyond nice, kind, caring, sweet and fun! Best cruise staff ever!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well designed and crew and staff worked very hard to maintain the cleanliness. It was the passengers that were disrespectful of the ship leaving glasses and dishes in elevators and on floors. The crew worked tirelessly to keep up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was fine, lots of storage space with small fridge and a safe. Bathrooms are small, but that’s what you expect on a cruise ship.

Ship tip

We bought the internet package and it was iffy at best. Wasn’t worth the additional price we paid. Make sure you look at itineraries and how long you are at each port. We were disappointed at some of the ports just because our time there was so short.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
All we did was board the ship at this port. Very busy port, but seemed organized for cruise passengers.

Sitka, Alaska

4 out of 5
Sitka was ok, least favorite of all the ports. Locals weren’t very friendly. We did not do an excursion.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Icy Strait Point was very interesting, beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed visiting. We did not do an excursion.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Park rangers came onboard to tell us all about the glaciers. It was very informative, but sad to see how quickly the glaciers are disappearing.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Favorite port. We did the railway excursion which was awesome, and ate and shopped in town. Loved Skagway.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the Salmon bake excursion which was fun. It was pouring rain, but the salmon bake was in a covered area, location was beautiful and the salmon was incredible.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

2 out of 5
Least favorite port. We had to dock on the other side of town while the bigger ships got to dock in the middle of town. The dock is in an industrial area. We were only there a few hours and had to wait for a shuttle bus to take us to town. We weren’t there long enough to do any excursions.

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
We were there for 3 hours, not enough time to do anything other than go to the port gift shop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy. We carried our own luggage off the ship which was very easy. It was well organized.
