Review summary

This was a great trip with interesting stops and scenic vistas. The food was excellent both in the buffet and 2 main dining rooms, Windows and Gardens. They also had a couple of other free food venues, Blue Lagoon, Henry’s Pub and Shanghai Bar.Really wish water and cappuccino were part of beverage plan. You can only drink so much alcohol.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was excellent except for Shogun where we paid extra. Drink package did NOT include water or specialty coffees.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Paint by You was fun but little kids should have been in their own class, not with adults.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Clubs and theater were too loud and the C Notes were off key.

Children's Programs

We did not bring children but there were a lot of them on board.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They seemed a bit understaffed, longer than expected wait times, but good and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Nice design even if we were unable to use outdoor space much because we were so far north.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We knew it would be small but it was dark and quiet, good for sleeping.

Ship tip

It is going into dry dock for updates in January, I think they said.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

4 out of 5
We came 4 days early to sight see in London. Could have stayed longer. Tube made it easy but crowded.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

3 out of 5
We opted not to go to Blarney castle so Cork was just ok. We like to visit beautiful churches.

Dublin, Ireland

Book of Kelly’s, Brazen Head and Guinness tour... need I say more?

Belfast, Northern Ireland

3 out of 5
Still torn between cultures... kind of depressing but living history. Day 11 bon fires are still a thing. Amazing graffiti art.

Reykjavik, Iceland

We did the Golden Circle excursion... the original geyser, waterfalls and tectonic plates. Our guide, Tota, was great. Lots of history and tradition explained.

Akureyri, Iceland

3 out of 5
We went to mass at St. Peter’s and then visited the botanical gardens.

Geiranger, Norway

It’s difficult to describe how beautiful this area is. Every scene like a postcard. We took a bus tour and later walked up the trail to the top of a waterfall. Breathtaking!

NORDFJORDEID, NORWAY

4 out of 5
Another beautiful fjord town but different. Highlight was the Viking ship museum.

Ijmuiden (Amsterdam), Netherlands

5 out of 5
We took a bus tour to see windmills, wooden shoes and Edam cheese. But our guide, Tjeerd, made it a great day, explaining everything and just being personable.

Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

4 out of 5
A beautiful blend of old and new with many chocolate shops and open air restaurants. There were horse drawn carriages and boat tours along the canals. We opted to walk and explore and were fortunate to stumble upon a brewery where we tried a flight of local beers.

Disembarkation

Again, very easy. Luggage was waIting and we walked right out.

Traveler Photos

Actually Norway, but that was not listed as a catagory. Again, Norway, but they didn’t list it as an option.
