Review summary

I particularly enjoyed Pisa with its leaning tower, Dubrivnik which was so picturesque, and finishing with a cruise into spectacular Venice. There was plenty to enjoy onboard with fine restaurants, music, and shows

We had plenty of room for 2, and photographic opportunities were plentiful with morning arrivals and sunset departures. The cabin steward and staff were friendly and helpful.

Ship tip

Use the stairs when possible to go for food or entertainment. Most venues are close on this medium size ship

I've heard from people going to Rome the first time to take a tour because there is so much to see and Rome is far from the port. I'm heeding this advice when we go there for the Oct 24-Nov 6 cruise on the Spirit. I booked the Italian Trio from Cruise Excursions (Rome, Florence/Pisa, and Naples). Price was right too as the Rome tour alone with NCL was more than the 3 tours with cruise exc.

Any recommendations for getting to Rome (train, bus, etc?) We're deciding between a tour, either NCL or not.
