A Wonderful Cruise by padwex

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

This is the first time my husband and I took any of our grandkids on a cruise with us. We took our 11 year old granddaughter. My sister, her husband and adult son also came. It was their first cruise. We were looking forward to seeing the Prima since we read so many reviews, both good and bad. We had a great time and would go on the ship again. Some of our favorites were the infinity pools, indulge, Hasuki, the entertainment, the promenade and the food.

Memorable Birthday Cruise! by bbau0325

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Prima

I love the Prima and couldn't have had a better experience to celebrate my birthday. The staff made this cruise so much fun and took such good care of us. I loved them all. We literally heard stories from passengers that cried each evening when they got back to their cabins because they were in disbelief they were on a cruise ship that was so nice.

Prima 5 to 12 March 2023 by cgillen2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

The cruise was great. Everyone should try the Prima once. If you like big ships like the Bliss, you will not love the Prima, but if you make a game of it you will learn to like it.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

Ship is beautiful, but would not do it again unless I got it so cheap. Pool area is terrible. Everyone complained about it too small venues all too small not enough places to sit for all the guests on board not really enough to do in the evening.

Not impressed by gallaher5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

Have been on multiple cruises on different cruise lines, and they all have somethings we like and dislike. Didn’t feel this ship was designed to it’s potential. If you don’t want to use the drink package, the pool, watch a show, or workout then you should like the boat. Otherwise book a different boat.

Nice Cruise! by Kbuckley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Prima

It was nice, not exactly a boat for families. The extra daily service charges, booked shows, booked restaurants and activities made it difficult to enjoy.

We had a great time! by clanzil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Overall very great cruise. The ship is definitely different and it requires planning so you don’t miss out due to crowds but it’s definitely worth the planning.

Heard many alarming things about the Prima. To me, none of them were true. I LOVED every moment! Food was amazing, cabins were amazing. Best staff hands down!

A misunderstood ship by bortman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

The Prima is a bold and unique design. The food venues are small, so doing the opposite of what you're used to will help you. Examples: Indulge for Breakfast, rather than the Buffet.

Unique and Beautiful Ship! by sunpippin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Prima

Truly a beautiful and uniquely designed ship. Service staff was so great overall... My friend and I had several favorite servers, and we requested their sections whenever possible. As for the ship itself -- Go into it with an open mind, and I think you will have a fantastic vacation. Many gripe about the fact that the layout and general flow of decks 6/7/8 are not the same as on Breakaway or Breakaway Plus, but that is definitely intentional. Instead of one long central corridor on each level, there are instead passageways which tend to be offset to port or starboard... And I figured it out pretty quickly. Main dining room is gorgeous, Indulge food hall is a gem and so delicious, and don't forget to do the go-karts... This track layout is fantastic. Donna Summer musical and The Price is Right were so much fun. Highly recommend! Was everything perfect? No. Still some kinks to work out with chilly hot tubs, some crowded spaces, deck chair hogs, show reservation snags... But I had a blast and will totally be back.

Prima cruise by Gammi6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

I love the ship. I think it is beautiful. I had read a lot of complaints but we have very few. Mostly elevator problems and the usual chair savers. I love the layout that others seemed to dislike. Deck 8 is gorgeous. The amount of outside seating is amazing. The observation deck is beautiful and has so many comfortable chairs and great views. Perfect place to relax and read a book.

Beautiful Ship With Lots Of Problems by MemphisTraveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Prima is gorgeous. Unfortunately, all of the beauty is wasted on poor design and not enough space to accommodate the number of people on board. The staff, overall, were very nice and did the best they could. Bars do not have enough staff and restaurants have limited hours and not enough seating. There was also a food borne illness issue (I, along with many others became ill) which NCL has yet to acknowledge in a complaint I filed. There are several posts by others on the ship on several travel sites that share the same experience we have outlined. The biggest problem is that NCL really doesn't care. My formal complaint was pretty much ignored and we were told our experience was "unusual." Reading reviews of others who were on our sailing, along with reviews of other sailings on the Prima show that there was nothing "unusual" about our experience.

Prima - Never Again by TubbyTobysMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Prima

We do not blame Norwegian but we had cold, windy and rainy days all most the full week. 2 ports were cancelled and one was not cancelled but all the activities were canceled. That was also Christmas day so not a lot was open to begin with. My point is, the passengers were already in a bad mood from the weather, cancelled plans and being stuck inside. The Norwegian made it worse by not opening venues to give us something to do. They would add another origami class, that is not cutting it.. Indulge Food Hall is amazing and should be massively bigger. Also people should be able to sit at any station and order anything. so many seats sat empty when a lot of people wanted in. You cant help that everyone in your group does not want to have salad just because you do and therefore you cannot set at the salad stall. I would understand if it was a pay-as-you-go but it is all included, why does Norwegian care where people sit? The buffet is okay but WAY too small with no wear near enough seating. Having to take your food to the other side of the ship to find seating is ridiculous. It looks like this ship has a lot of outside space, but that is not really true. For example, the back deck that is meant for casual siting and drinking. This area was over run with people looking for sunlounge space. Everything was wet and pushed all around to try and make lounger space out of seating space. In the evening you could not enjoy this as seating space because it was wet from the sun bathers earlier in the day. Yuck. You could not get any frozen drinks in the back lounge area! (Sol bar?) The Observatory Lounge was completely FREEZING all the time. I would routinely see people inside with multiple layers or even blankets! Also it was not a quiet area. It was rather loud with kids playing games and people talking or playing other game and having a good time. I don't have a problem with have fun, I just thought this was more of a quiet conversation or read a book space. I guess they were forced to take this space over because they had no place lese to go!
