If you are looking for very casual cruise and looking to just get away and relax this ship is for you. This is not a mega ship where you are bumping into people everywhere you walk. Also if you are a drinker there is enough bars on this ship to quench your taste!!! If you need a good nights sleep stay away from Cabin 5104 too noisy!!!

We loved deck 11 and midship was best due to the fairly rocky seas during our trip.

Based on other reviews I had read prior to my cruise, I was quite disappointed in comparison to my experience with Carnival. It does appear that The Pearl periodically does get lower scores during distinct periods of time, which makes me question whether NCL uses it periodically for training and I just happened to pick the cruise NCL was training. As you typically select a cruise months if not a year advance, not sure that you can avoid this.

I would not sail out of NOLA again, find a similar cruise out of Florida. On the way back into port on Saturday night we had a near collision with a freighter on the Mississippi and had to make emergency maneuvers to avoid it. Many injuries and broken glassware and bottles as the ship lurched sideways.

Don't sail on the Pearl. Find another ship...or spend a little extra and sail on a different cruise line.
