Review summary
We did the 10 day cruise at the end of the Pearl's repositioning cruise from Miami. We got on in Vancouver and departed at Seattle. We had the best weather of any Alaskan cruise we have ever had. The ports were all very good. We especially enjoyed Icy Straits. The highlight of the ship was the outstanding attention, friendliness, and service of the crew. The officers were approachable, and the workers amazing! The main criticism is that the required beginning drill was a complete waste and extended into the leaving of port on the beginning of the cruise. We were unable to hear any of the instructions given over the ship's loud speaker system. Leaving port at the beginning of the cruise is a highlight, and that was a very strong negative!

Ship tip
The hotel staff does an excellent job. There was a breakout of the cruiseing crud that the ship recognized and made every attempt to control.
