DON'T go to Norwegian Joy !!! I was in Encore in my previous trip, and the experience, the staff, the restaurant WERE GREAT. The food was DELICIOUS in the ship Encore. The drinks were more well decorated. On board of Norwegian Joy, there was no food that I could say it was delicious, I wanted more. It was a torture every dinner, at least 45 minutes between appetizer and main dish. I thought it would happen 1 day only, but it was the same slow service EVERY DAY !!!
Be very careful at the finale of Elements, the cast fans huge amounts of paper squares ( confetti) forcefully into the audience from the aisles. My husband swallowed a big clump, had to go to medical..it cost us over $3000 Canadian ..Norwegian won’t cover it. We are Sapphire standing, but considering not retuning to their cruises.
Check out the American Diner. This was supposed to be the initial voyage with the American Diner open as a complimentary restaurant, but it wasn't. There were rumors it opened up the last day, but I can't confirm that.
The Thermal Suite is new on the ship and was closed all but the last couple of days, where a few individuals were let in and it looks amazing. Great inside space, with options for jacuzzi, sauna, salt and cold therapy rooms as well as heated loungers. The decor looks outstanding with many new aesthetic elements like waterfalls and sculptures.
There’re 2 sets of elevators and you have to pay attention to where you’re trying to get to. At the top of each one it tells you which floors it’ll have access to. Also some floors up top do not connect between the front and rear of the ship so you may have to walk from one side to the other on another floor and then go up to get where you’re trying to go.
If you are a smoker, there is only one area in a plexiglass room to smoke. They removed smoking from spice h20. So casino smoking area is only other place. Not pleasant to have smoking next to kids pool either.
Days at sea will show that you cannot see the Pool unless you get there by 8am...Between saving seats and lack of space, almost impossible to find a spot
