I felt I was robbed this time with Norwegian Joy. The food and dinner were disappointing... dessert was awful, NOT ONE SINGLE dessert impressed me. The drinks, poorly decorated, not even a strawberry or cherry. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed sometimes. Most of them were friendly, just a few isolated staff members were kind of grumpy (specially the server in Food Republic)
Embarkation

Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The concierge explained that being a Haven guest, "I was entitled for the perks" but did not grant them to me. I did not have the specialty dinners, neither the drink package. Dinner had the same options EVERY DAY, and took 45 mit to 1 hour to get the food. Very disappointing. We were in 4 families, the food would arrive to the table kind of cold already.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
not many activities, no basketball court. Most of the restaurants and snacks were open for a limited time only. Every time I wanted a snack, either Garden Cafe, Observation lounge or Horizon lounge - it was CLOSED !! The only option 24 hours was the local grill.
Entertainment

Service and Staff

Concierges Mr. X and Efren were GREAT !! Thumbs up for them.
My buttler - NEVER SAW HIM !!! for the duration of 7 days, I saw the butler for the other room on my hallway every day. But my butler, did not take time to introduce himself to me. This time, the Haven room seemed like a regular balcony room, but overly priced !!!
Ship Quality

cabin bathroom STINKS the whole time. I went to my sister's cabin, same bad smell.... steward did not change the towels, although I put them in a place clearly to be changed. I did not place the towel hanging as shown in the sign, meaning I wanted to reuse them. I put elsewhere, I expected the towels to be changed

Ship tip
DON'T go to Norwegian Joy !!! I was in Encore in my previous trip, and the experience, the staff, the restaurant WERE GREAT. The food was DELICIOUS in the ship Encore. The drinks were more well decorated. On board of Norwegian Joy, there was no food that I could say it was delicious, I wanted more. It was a torture every dinner, at least 45 minutes between appetizer and main dish. I thought it would happen 1 day only, but it was the same slow service EVERY DAY !!!
Thank you for the information. Sorry it didn't meet your expectations. We are on the transatlantic from Southampton to Miami. It's a haven suite on the Joy.
We have not been on the Joy, but have been Haven guest on several other NCL ships. We don’t mind that the menu doesn’t change. Who could be mad about surf and turf, of a porterhouse steak, or Prime Rib, or Seared Pork Chops every night? With so many complimentary restaurants, eating the same food should not be an issue. Even the buffet is okay if you go into it understanding it’s a buffet.
We give cards to all our service staff; Butler, Bar Tender, room attendant, and even our concierge, toss in a few hundred bucks to each of them. Include a note with the expectations, and magically it happens.
If it doesn’t happen to our expectations, they don’t get the second envelope on the last day.
I’m sorry your experience was less than expected. For us, we set the expectations up front.
Towels are only replaced if you put them on the floor. Not sure where you out yours that they weren't replaced? Also, the Observation Lounge is never closed. It is a common area of the ship that is always available to guests. They explicitly state in the daily planner and app, the times that snacks are served which is a small window each day. Chips, scones, and fruit are the typical available items. There is always food available at The Local. That's a 24/7 spot.
