Ncl tried very hard to be as safe as the could but people still refused to wear masks even when hey had agreed to wearing them before embarking. Stayed away from most of the big events because of the idiots. All, in all, it was a fantastic holiday cruise with good food and a lot of the celebrations simulcast into the suite. Butler and room steward were among the best I have ever had.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Assigned times kept the crowds down and the COVID testing was extremely easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Spent most of our time in the Haven section were their restaurant has the same high quality foods as the specialty restaurants
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Although the ship was only 60% full teenagers ran all over the place without masks. Some adults would carry around a glass like they were drinking when it was empty so they didn't have to wear a mask. Crew wore masks constantly and are tested weekly. Being careful we felt safe,
Entertainment
3 out of 5
They had to cancel most of the life shows due to "injuries" and showed some presentations of past shows.

Cabin / Stateroom

Absolutely magnificent! We had a huge balcony, where we spent a lot of time. Access to the Haven amenities was a big plus.
Companion needed a wheelchair. It arrived on time but then the attendant was not allowed to leave the ship so we had to wait on the deck for 20 mins for them to find someone else. We missed the first bus to the airport because of this.
I appreciate your review. Omicron has shown that anything other than an N95 is useless against this highly contagious variant. I am an avid mask wearer, vaccinated and boosted, yet still got covid over the NYE in spite of staying home for the holidays. But if NCL makes you sign a contract to wear a mask, it is a contract. I will not call people idiots for not wearing a mask. I am sick of wearing masks too especially when it did nothing to protect me. We are all fed up with the CDC' shifting reccomendations and political (instead of scientific) policies. If you are wearing your N95 around these so called "idiots", then consider yourself to be safe and not worry what others do. Now... let's discuss the real problem: Is the garden buffet still self serve? There's far more risk of infection from that!
Thanks for your review. Beyond frustrating that people agree to abide by the rules, only then refuse to abide. I’m sorry your cruise wasn’t all that you’d hoped.
People that agree to commitments/contracts should abide by them and respect others. Personal integrity seems to be missing for many these days, and should not be acceptable.
